The teacher goes on about the movement of some kind of worm while I try to focus on what's she saying. It's hard to focus when there's a 5'4 blonde softly snoring her head off on the table beside mine.
My eyes keep flickering to Holly who has her head on her palm, her elbow propped up. Her head is facing downward in such a position that looks like she's reading the textbook in front of her.
I don't know if the teacher is buying the illusion or not. She keeps glancing at Holly's way suspiciously throughout her presentation.
When the teacher glances Holly's way for the fifth time, that's when I know Holly's gonna get busted.
Without trying to get the teacher's attention, I try to wake her up. We're seated in the last rows, so I don't have to worry about any students looking at us.
With my ruler, I poke Holly's side with as much stealth as I can muster, trying not to grab the teacher's attention.
She doesn't move.
I poke her again.
Her head sways a little on her palm, but she doesn't open her eyes.
Last night was a mess for both of us and I'm hella sleepy too.
"Holly," I whisper, poking her again.
She lets out a soft groan and I freeze, quickly looking ahead to check if the teacher caught that sound or not.
The teacher's still talking, pointing at something on her slides.
I glance back at Holly.
"Wake up, you dumbass." I hiss, jabbing her with the ruler this time.
She jerks up in her seat.
Her eyes gaze around the room. A sleepy confused frown appears on her face as if she forgot where she is. She takes in the whole class sleepily before her eyes find me.
A lazy smile tugs the corners of her lips up.
"Good morning." I greet her, sarcastically.
"Hey, you." She greets back.
A yawn breaks her smile, and she raises her arms up slightly, stretching.
"Holly Versace!" The teacher's voice echoes throughout the class. "Is my class too boring for you?"
I wince.
"Yup." Holly mumbles.
My eyes widen at her.
"What did you say?" The teacher raises her eyebrows.
