And they all fell down

The other group stayed there and went over their plan. Steve knew Bucky would be flying a drone right now or scanning the building. He let himself imagine the man's face one more time before forgetting about it and focusing on the house in front.

They did the same thing, over and over. Saving families from their homes and taking out the bad guys in total silence. The snipers shot the criminals walking around before they could make a noise, and Steve ordered his group to pick up the bodies as they went.

Outside the church, Madison was preparing their first infiltration. The layout of the building meant it would be more beneficial if they stayed together in one group instead of splitting up. With small numbers anyway it was going to be hard.

Bucky flew a drone over to a nearby window and at least four gunmen stood between the pews. But no hostages. He flew around the building, but all the blinds were closed. He released small receivers for sound so they could hear any conversations from inside.

"I can hear at least another four in the main hallway and possibly eight more in a back room", said Madison. "Hostages are likely in the back room and more unidentified attackers in the halls between. We know our positions. Barnes you keep monitoring and walk near the back".

They scanned the empty square and houses opposite and determined it was safe to enter. They started through the first corridor and came into the main room through two different doors and took out the first four guys before they even knew they had company.

The team started making their move down the maze of corridors and the men at the front eliminated any threats as soon as they rounded each corner.

Bucky walked at the back with two men either side of him for extra protection as he guided them to the back room to look for the hostages. They hadn't encountered more than four men at a time and so half the group had yet to do anything but follow.

They finally found a room at the end of the hall that was being guarded by two men. They waited around the corner as Bucky surveyed the area before they proceeded. They couldn't shoot the men or they would risk them falling into the doors and giving away their position.

Madison decided to throw a small smoke bomb and two agents ran through it and grabbed the men, shooting them in the head and slowly lowering them to the floor.

No one said a word, only the slight hissing of the escaping smoke sounded around the area. They nodded to each other for the go ahead before they opened the door and four of them took a shot straight away.

Four criminals fell to the floor and the team breathed heavily. The family sat around the room as one man, probably the security expert, sat tied to a chair in the middle.

Agents ran forward to untie them and get them out when shouts started coming from outside the room.

Criminals came running, shooting with their guns and breaking any silence they had.

"Protect the hostages", Madison shouted.

Half the agents backed up and stood in front of the family as someone went round untying them and others stepped forward to shoot the new attackers. Only small injuries had been caused by the time the new guys were dead.

They thought they were in the clear when a loud explosion sounded from somewhere in the building and the nearest wall caved in. The civilians screamed as the roof started to shake and crack, dust falling onto them.

A beam suddenly broke away and fell to the floor, hitting Madison and knocking him out instantly. The agents stood for a moment as their plan was starting to break apart.
