Vol. 5 Ch. 40 Reunion

Your POV

Ruby, Ren, and I were cooking at the stove, Jaune was setting up the table, and Nora was cutting carrots, occasionally eating slices. Ren spoke up and said, "Alright, the first batch is just about done." Ruby replied, "Awesome! Now we just need Qrow and we'll be all set." While still eating carrots, Nora said, "Do you really think he's gonna bring that many people? This is a lot of food." Ruby answered and said, "Uh, I don't know, but it sounds like we could use all the help we can get."

We heard Qrow call from the other room as he said, "I'm back!" Ruby replied and said, "Be right there!" I looked at Ruby and said, "Ruby, you're going to overcook that." Ruby retorted amd said, "No I'm not, shut up!" Qrow called from the other room once more and said, "Hey, uh, Ruby?" "I'm coming!" Ruby called out in reply. Then some smoke started coming from the pan Ruby was cooking with. She groaned and said to me, "Fine! You take over." Ruby grabbed the tea tray and headed to the living room while Ren and I continued to cook.

As Ren and I continued to cook, Jaune walked in and said, "Hey, Nightingale, I was wondering about something if you don't mind me asking." I nodded and said, "I don't mind at all." Jaune smiled and said, "I thought you had planned on going to get Weiss soon. Is your TARDIS not repaired yet?" I sighed and said, "Well, it's repaired its outer shell. In other words, it's repaired the outside already, but the interior isn't finished."

Jaune nodded and said, "I see, so do you know why it could be taking so long for the interior to be finished?" I sighed again and replied, "If I had to take a guess, I'd say that the TARDIS is most likely completely rebuilding the interior. That'll mean that the main console room, which is the room that's right inside the doors and where I control the TARDIS, will probably be completely different. But I'm not complaining, especially since it's been quite a long time since I've redecorated, or more accurately reconfigured, the interior." Hearing the sound of something shattering on the floor in the other room, I turned to others and said, "You guys can go check that out, I can finished up here."

3rd Person POV

Ruby looked at the tea tray as she entered the room and said, "So, we didn't know how many people were coming, so we just cooked all of it." She looked up, and gasped as she dropped the tea tray and its contents, which shattered on the floor. She stared in disbelief at the sight of not only Qrow, but of her older sister Yang and her teammate, Weiss. Yang approached her little sister. Ruby said, with her voice cracking, "Yang, I... I'm so sorry! I-I should've stayed, and I should've talked to you more! I'd─I just..." Tears started pouring from her eyes as Ruby continued, "I wasn't sure if you wanted me around and─" Suddenly, her big sister gave her a strong hug. Ruby's lips quivered, and she looked toward her sister. Yang said, "I love you." Then tears streamed from her eyes as well. Ruby sobbed as she leans into her sister's hug and said, "I love you too."

Jaune, Ren and Nora entered the room, smiling at the sight of the two sisters embracing each other. Qrow smiled as well. Oscar entered the room and said, "Uh..." He looked up, seeing Ruby and Yang hugging, and smiled. Weiss smiled as she wiped a tear from her eye, before frowning while looking down. Then Ruby said, "Weiss." Weiss looked up, and saw the two sisters open their arms up for her. She smiled and eagerly joined them in their hug. Everyone smiled as they watched three of the four Team RWBY members embraced.

When the three teammates pulled apart, Weiss said, "So, Ruby, have any of you seen the Nightingale? We got separated on the way to Mistral." Ruby chuckled lightly and said, "Well, he's actually here too." Weiss smiled as she now noticed the familiar gray long coat laying over the back of one of the couches and said, "Wait, really? Where is he?" Ren smiled and answered, "The Nightingale is currently finishing up the last of the cooking as we speak."
