Sakura and Chaewon's relationship was strong, but they had to keep it a secret. Well, they didn't have to, it's just that they weren't ready to tell their friends and families about it. They were afraid of how they would react.

They've been dating for quite a long time now, over seven months and Sakura's birthday was approaching. So, being the amazing girlfriend that she is, Chaewon decided to surprise Sakura with a day-long getaway from all the stress they have been facing lately.

To say Sakura was hyped was an understatement. Ever since Chaewon told her to get ready for it, she just couldn't stop thinking about what they would do. She was all ready for it, she even packed some stuff in a bag that she could need since Chaewon didn't give her much information on where they were going. She had no doubt that Chaewon would plan something wonderful for her.

Chaewon picked her up at her house early in the morning because she wanted to take Sakura somewhere that was a 'bit far' as she said. She got in the younger girl's car and said hello to her with a light peck on the lips. Chaewon didn't waste much time and started driving. Sakura took her free hand and held it as Chaewon was driving and they  chatted the whole time.

They stopped at a nice place around midday which wasn't their final destination yet, but they needed somewhere to eat. Chaewon put a blanket down for them and they both sat on it, getting out some sandwiches that the younger packed.

"I can't wait to see where you're taking me. My expectations are quite high, you know," Sakura said playfully but Chaewon seemed like she was somewhere else in her head. She was a bit out of it but still shot Sakura a soft smile back in return.

They had some conversations as they were eating but Sakura just couldn't help but feel like something was off. Chaewon seemed distant and distracted. When they both got back in the car after they finished their lunch Sakura wanted to take Chaewon's free hand again but this time Chaewon slightly pulled her hand away and just put that one on the steering wheel too.

This worried Sakura a lot, Chaewon never pulled away from her like this before. There was complete silence in the car now, and they both felt the tension because of Chaewon's actions. Sakura had time to think now and she started doubting herself in their relationship. Maybe Chaewon was starting to regret dating her? Was she not enough for Chaewon?

She couldn't stop thinking about this the whole way and just when she was about to speak up and confront Chaewon about her behavior, the younger stopped the car and announced that they arrived.

Chaewon motioned for Sakura to follow her, without a word actually spoken between them. Sakura still felt tense but she couldn't help but admire the place. Chaewon led her to a secluded area and once again set the blanket down on the ground. They both sat down and Chaewon fidgeted with her hands, looking down at her lap. Sakura finally gathered her courage again and spoke up.

"Be honest, Chaewon. Am I not good enough for you?" she asked straight up.

"What?" Chaewon asked with surprise in her voice. "No, no Kkura, that's not it at all. I swear it's just..." Chaewon trailed off.

"Then what is it? Because today I felt like I don't mean as much to you as you mean to me," Sakura countered.

"Sakura, you mean the world to me," Chaewon said exasperatedly. "And that's what scares me so much,"

"What do you mean?" Now Sakura was simply confused.

"I'm just so scared of what people will think of us if we tell them about us being a couple," the younger girl sighed. "I mean, I wanna tell every single person on this Earth that I love you and that we're happy together but I'm so scared of people's reactions,"

Sakura gets the problem now. She's scared too, that's why she agreed to keep their relationship a secret in the first place. And she's so glad that Chaewon trusts her enough to share her feelings with her like this. "Babe, no need to feel scared. I get you and you don't need to feel ashamed about it either. We'll get over that too when it's time for it. Together. But everything will happen in its own time. I'm also sure that our friends and family who truly love us will accept and support us no matter what," Sakura said. This little speech she just gave put Chaewon at ease. It made her realize that everything's going to be fine and they don't need to tell anyone anything right now.

"You're right. Thank you, I needed to hear this right now," Chaewon said as they lay down on the blanket, cuddling up to each other. "I love you," she mumbled into Sakura's neck, placing a soft kiss there.

"I love you too," Sakura replied. They spent the rest of the day there on the blanket, cuddled up, watching the sunset and enjoying each other's company before heading back home, late at night, more in love than they've ever been before.
