BRIE
Colin came in with the coffee and placed it on the desk.
My father talked about how I would get my stuff back from Hugh.
My father wants to drive back with me to get my things after Larissa and Dominic go on their honeymoon two days later.
I agreed.
It would give me more time.
I also told my father we could ask Alex to help, to which he agreed when I texted him that my father was helping me get my things back from Hugh.
My father went to say something else when my phone rang.
I looked at the screen. It was Larissa.
I quickly swiped it and answered.
"Hey," I said. "I'm still with Dad."
"Hey," she said. "I know, I am outside. Your dress is Mum and Dad's house to try on." I looked at my father, who smiled.
"Okay," I said. "I will be down now."
"Okay," she said. "I will see you in a little while."
I hung up and looked at Dad.
"Well, it looks like I am trying on my bridesmaid dress now," I said. "I must go; Larissa is outside waiting for me."
My father chuckled.
"That girl hasn't stopped," he said. "I can't wait for this day to end; I get my wife and daughter back." I nodded but said nothing.
I didn't want to talk about Mum again. She wasn't my concern.
I got up, and so did my dad. He pulled me into a hug.
"We will get your stuff," he whispered. "I will learn more about what we can do and how to proceed." I pulled back and smiled.
My father wanted to find out if there were any legal terms I needed to follow, as Hugh had changed the locks on the door.
My father was even willing to call the police if needed.
I was happy that he was looking into it. I don't think I could go through the whole thing with someone staring at my chest again and not believing me.
"See you later at the rehearsal dinner," I said.
My dad nodded.
I turned and walked away. I headed out of his office and out through the doors. As I walked past Colin, I gave him a wave. He waved back.
I stepped outside and saw Larissa in the car. She looked over at me and smiled as I opened the door. I closed it, and Larissa drove away.
"The dress will be there to try on," she said, keeping her eyes on the road. "After you try on the dress, we can get together for the rehearsal."
I smiled.
"I like that," I said, but I couldn't help the frown that formed. "Even though I have no clue what to wear. I don't think I got anything suitable for the rehearsal."
Larissa giggled.
"Oh, don't worry about that," she said, making me look at her. She took her eyes off the road for a few seconds to look at me but quickly looked back to the road. "I got the perfect dress for you."
I stared at her.
No dress she has will fit me.
She is two sizes smaller than me. How am I supposed to fit into something that she owns? Larissa looked at me and frowned.
