KADE

I had to walk away.

Brie either didn't feel the same way, or was stunned by what I had said, but either way I was hurt.

Walking toward the kitchen, I stopped and sighed, scanning around, wondering what I had to make for us to eat. I walked over to the freezer and opened it, only to find two pizzas. I switched on the oven to let it heat. We might as well have the pizzas.

I let my mind wonder over everything, especially the house. The kitchen, bathroom and bedroom were already done. There were only three other rooms to do, but I didn't know what to do with them. My plan was to work it out with Brie, if she came back and we would decide together on what to do with them.

I sighed and moved away. Quickly grabbing the pizzas and placed them in the oven, but I couldn't help my mind wondering elsewhere.

Brie was always my endgame. I made the choice to go to the army to prove to myself, but I have come back with more nightmares of what I have seen and done. I was seeing someone for them, but part of me wanted to find a better way.

Hearing her say she would never tell me to not go to the army, and I believed her when she said it. Brie hated certain things, but when it came to dreams, she would stand by you whether or not she believed in what you were doing.

I shook my head as I went back to pottering around the kitchen. Grabbing things we needed, such as two plates from the cupboard. I placed them in the middle of the table and went to look for something to drink.

Opening the fridge, I found some beers. We didn't exactly drink tonight at the meal as we never made it to the actual meal.

My mind wondered over what the hell happened when we left and grabbed my phone from my pocket and noticed a message from Dominic. I opened and read it.

Need to talk to you.

I stared at it for a few moments, but pressed the call button in the corner.

He answered after the second ring.

"Hey man," he said. "How is Brie?"

I turned around and faced the kitchen entrance, staring aimlessly into the corridor.

"She's okay," I muttered. "But she is pissed at her mum more than anything."

Dominic sighed.

"I bet," he said. "Larissa had a go at her mum and even threatened to call the whole thing off."

I tensed. I didn't want them to do that. They have been together for years, but letting a woman ruin the whole day for them that should never happen.

"Larissa is angry," he continued. "She hates the way her mum has been with Brie all her life, and the way she places her above her sister. She never wanted it."

Dominic sighed again, but said nothing for a few moments.

I was worrying about my brother.

"Dom," I murmured. "What do you want to do?"

Dominic was quiet for a few seconds, but whispered. "I don't know."

I felt for him. All he wants is to marry his fiance and make her his wife. Why does everything have to be hard?

"I want to elope," he blurted out, which made my eyes widen.

"Do it," I said, saying it out loud.

"What?" he said.
