BRIE
I closed my mouth as Larissa looked at me.
I knew I should have taken the photo sooner; it is only a matter of time before someone else will comment on the situation.
I cleared my lip and looked at my hands as I played with my fingers.
"Hugh cheated on me with her," I murmured.
I couldn't look at Larissa.
I didn't want pity.
"Brie," she whispered and placed her hands in mine, stopping me from moving them. I looked up at her.
Larissa's eyes glistened as she stared back.
I shook my head.
"Don't look at me like that," I said, moving my hands away from her. "I don't need your pity." Larissa stared at me as her eyes furrowed.
"I'm sorry that you went through that," she said. "I would never show you pity. You are my sister, and I should have known about this."
I shook my head.
"It's your wedding," I said. "I didn't want my drama to interfere with your big day." Larissa moved closer and placed her arms around me. She pulled me into a hug. I didn't even realize I was crying until I felt wetness on my cheeks.
We stayed like that for a while until Larissa moved.
She stared at me as she wiped away my tears.
"You should never cry over someone like that," she whispered. "He is not worth it." I gave her a small smile.
"I know," I said. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I didn't want you to be worried..." Larissa stopped me by shaking her head.
"Don't say my wedding," she said, making me stare at her as she continued. "Yeah, it's my big day, but it is not as important as you. Now, tell me what happened."
I stared at her and sighed.
I explained everything as I did with Dad. I even told her about my conversation with Dad before she picked me up about my stuff, and we were coming up with a plan to get my things back from Hugh.
Larissa frowned.
"You need to do it before..." she said, but I groaned and shook my head.
"We are not doing it before your wedding," I muttered as I looked at her. "Your wedding is tomorrow, and I would like to have one day of no drama."
Larissa looked at me as a slow smile itched across her face.
"Okay, fine," she said, narrowing her eyes at me.
"As long as you have Dominic and Kade help Dad," she said, making my eyes widen. "What?" I said. "I can't ask them to help."
Larissa grinned.
"Oh yes, you can," she said. "Both of them would do anything for you, especially Kade. I bet you show up at the house with him. Hugh would have a fit and even beg to have you back."
"That would never happen," I grunted. "I would rather stick hot pokers in my eyes than return to that cheating creep. And anyway, haven't you and Dominic got a honeymoon to get to after the wedding?"
Larissa smiled.
"We don't leave until four days after the wedding," she said, giving me a knowing smirk. I stared at her.
"What?" I asked, pulling a face.
Larissa laughed.
"We need to prepare for the wedding rehearsal," she said.
