You had just come back from a dangerous mission Kaz had sent you on. You came back a couple days later than you were supposed to, beaten and bruised. While you were there, you were attacked by the crew you were tracking and Pekka Rollins' gang spotted you, basically dragging you to his hideout for some, as they put it, 'questions' but you were able to escape. You were tended to by Inej, Kaz couldn't even look at you, not allowing you to go on missions and locking you up to the crow club. You stayed on the floors, making sure everything stayed in order. You questioned what happened and why Kaz was avoiding you and basically holding you captive. Many times, you've made attempts to talk to him but it only led to silences or short answers.

"I don't know what I'm doing wrong." I admitted to Jesper, I had just finished cleaning up and was taking a drink at the bar. He took a sip of his drink and faced me.

"Maybe you pissed him off, I mean you came back days later. Did you forget or miss anything coming back?" He questioned. I thought back on it all, every hit, punch, grab and the desperate escape.

"No. It exhibited perfectly except when I was attacked and walked back with a twisted ankle." He furrowed his eyebrows and drew closer to me, now whispering.

"Do you think he might be worried?" Kaz was always a silent worrier. I did question why random things appeared in my room. Food, medical aid things and more pillows. It was only when I complained.

"Have things been emerging in your room lately?" I whispered to him. His lips tightened as he thought, his eyebrows knit together.

"No? Why? Have you?"

"Yes. It only happens when I have troubles. Think it might be him?" I didn't want to mention his name, in case he was listening, suddenly a smile danced on Jespers lips.

"Test it." I raised an eyebrow.

"I'm not testing Kaz's friendship!" I whispered back, offended Jesper was even bringing up the idea. But he brought his finger to his lips, hitting my leg to shut me up.

"No. Test if it WAS him. Start saying about how you miss something, like a shop you used to go to." He leaned back a bit, raising his eyebrows in a suggestive way with a smirk and let the idea sit with me. I cleared my throat.

"You know what Jesper? As a kid, my father would buy me a single carnation flower and my favorite chocolates when I came back from a long trip. I miss it, he wrote notes about things I missed while away and how he couldn't wait till I came back. It was nice to know my father thought about me and was excited for my arrival." I talked a little louder than usual and kicked Jespers foot to play along. Kaz's office door sat open so I knew he was listening.

"You must've felt really appreciated and loved by him." He added, he covered his mouth to hide his giggling when he saw Kaz's shadow loiter by his door. He pushed my face to look up and I faced him, my mouth agape. He motioned his hand for me to continue and I got back into character.

"Y-Yeah, it's been a long while since then. I miss it dearly since I can't see him anymore, a lovely tradition and a lovely man. But I need to go discuss some things with Kaz. Good night, Jesper." I pushed the chair back and watched as Kaz's shadow disappeared and his door slowly shut. I looked at Jesper and he silently gasped.

"He was listening to us!" He whispered.

"I know! But we have to pretend this didn't happen, I'll go talk to him. Good night." I whispered back, and headed up the stairs. But stopping in front of his office. I put my ear up to the door,he was writing, I heard a pencil scrape along the paper. I backed up and took a deep breath, and knocked, I heard papers scramble around and feet hit the floor.
