"But what about th-"
"We don't have a choice!" You cut Luigi off as you tucked your wand in your pocket. "We're dead meat if we stay here."
Quickly, you put your hood back on and took out your rope. You tied it to the window, similar to how you did it at the Koopa Kingdom. Terrified, Luigi stayed close to you, hoping you knew what you were doing. You shoved part of the rope into his hands, and stood on the window.
Hearing the doors open, you both jolted your heads towards the front of the castle. You cursed under your breath as you saw eight shy guys enter, who hadn't noticed you yet.
"Come on." You mouthed as you climbed down the castle walls. Holding the rope tightly, Luigi followed. You tried to be silent, hoping the dry bones wouldn't hear you. In contrary, Luigi took each step carefully, gasping any time he slipped.
It wasn't nearly as high as you had to climb before, but stressful nonetheless. Reaching the bottom first, you took out your wand and motioned it to create a new path.
Nothing happened.
You tried again, but had the same result. You knocked at the wand and shook it, desperate for it to do something. With Luigi now behind you, you repeated the motion one final time. Now, you managed to make a path that was more dangerous than the first. The rocks were a lot smaller, and you had fewer of them to work with.
You glanced at Luigi, who was wide eyed at what you'd done. Not giving yourself time to cower, you skipped across each rock, with Luigi following. As you jumped onto one of the final rocks, your rushing backfired. You stepped on a wrong edge, causing you to slip.
Luckily, you repositioned your other foot just in time, and were able to stand back up. Going pale at what could have been your end, you took a minute to regain your composure. You turned to Luigi, whose eyes were wide in fear.
"...Please... be careful." He whispered.
Exhaling, you stepped onto the last rock, reaching land. As you took some deep breaths, you waited for Luigi. He ended up taking longer than you did, but still made it across too.
"We have to be quiet. A dry bone will attack anything it sees." You whispered to him. He nodded, obviously nervous. You took lead, moving quickly yet cautiously. Still uneasy, Luigi did his best to be aware of his surroundings, just in case his brother was anywhere near.
~Timeskip~
You were sick of the never-ending dead trees and dark clouds. Fatigued and concerned, you wondered when you'd find a warp pipe, and get out of there. As for Luigi, he was too paranoid to even notice his exhaustion. The slightest sound made him flinch, and you heard small whimpers every now and then.
