Clint Barton

"How bad is it"? I asked Tony, not really sure whether I wanted to hear the answer. I'd made sure to take a S.H.I.E.L.D monitor with me to stay connected with Tony and keep up to date on anything new. I'd placed the monitor on the coffee table as I perched on the edge of the cashmere couch.

"Well, there's a lot of damage that can't be fixed without major re-construction, and a lot of buildings including a school, a hospital and a library have been burnt to a crisp" I rubbed my face with my hands, feeling somewhat guilty for leaving the demolished big apple to lounge in the sun - although the choice of a vacation wasn't entirely my choice.

"I think we should come back to help clean up" I sighed, taking a long gulp from a glass of soda.

"That's not a good idea Clint. You and Natasha needed a break, a break from S.H.I.E.L.D, and a break from Hawkeye and Black Widow" Tony's tone had become sincere; he held his monitor next to the new glass windows - the last ones being smashed - to show me the broken city. I couldn't help but grimace at the sight before me, buildings surrounded by firemen as they tried removing some of the debris; other people wrapping blankets tightly around their shoulders waiting to be directed to refuge.

"Captain has gone on his own little adventure, Banner is working with me on a side project and Thor is back in la la land with Loki. We're all doing our own thing; otherwise we'd all go insane. I know how you and Natasha tick - you won't rest. So sending you both on a plane and away from all this madness was for the best" Tony placed the monitor back down on to his desk, I watched him swig back a glass of whiskey.

"Nat's going mad out here. We've only been here six days and she's already got us training again" I smiled to myself thinking about Nat and her ways.

"Well just stay sharp Legolas" Tony uncrossed his arms from his chest, reaching for his empty glass to top it up.

"I'll stay sharp if you stay sober" I sipped back the rest of the soda, remembering when Nat had a little too much the other night.

"Screw that, go get blunt" Tony laughed loudly, taking a mouthful of his bitter drink.

"Are you talking to yourself"? Natasha suddenly came hopping down the stairs wearing just a light towel around her body; droplets of clear water falling from the ends of her hair. "Oh... hello Stark" Natasha brought herself to say, her grip on the towel tightening. I let a chuckle depart from my lips as I turned back to face the slightly pixelated Tony - he covered his eyes with the hand he wasn't using to hold his drink.

Nat fled from the living room back to her room - she was probably going to kill me later. "The coast is clear Tony" I concealed the grin creeping on to my face; trying my best to focus my mind on Tony, other than Nat's legs. Tony removed his hands from his eyes; the smug look on his face only caused me to sigh.

"It looks like you two are making the most of your vacation" Tony cocked an eyebrow with a suggestive smile. I shook my head and contemplated on shutting the monitor off; this was something I didn't want to talk about, let alone with Tony Stark - who could be known for being an ass.

"Look, it's okay if you two are doing it, but please, I'm a man of hygiene so please refrain from doing it in the kitc-"

"We're not doing it at all" I cut him off and lowered my tone, covering my face with my hands.

"Hey hey, calm down man. We all knew it was going to happen sometime or later. Just make sure you're safe, I don't want a little Robin Hood running around this place" Tony laughed loudly at his own joke; his booming laughter causing me to grit my teeth.

"Yeah yeah, whatever. Speak to you soon Stark" I mumbled, before flipping him the finger and shutting down the monitor.
