Third PERSON POV

“Maa… Maa, kaha ho aap?”

A small girl, her eyes brimming with tears, wandered around the house, searching for her mother. It was early morning, and she had woken up to an empty space, not knowing where her mother had gone.

Just as she was about to cry harder, a gentle yet urgent voice reached her ears.

“Aashvi! Kya hua, mere bacha?”

A young woman, beautiful like a goddess, rushed toward her daughter, scooping her into a warm embrace.

“Mumma, aap kaha chale gaye the?” Aashvi sobbed against her mother’s chest. “Please mujhe akele chhod ke mat jaya karo. Mujhe bohot dar lagta hai!”

Tears welled up in the woman’s eyes as she held her daughter tightly, guilt washing over her. She hated seeing her child cry, especially because of her.

“I’m so sorry, mera bacha,” she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. “Mumma bas mandir gayi thi… maaf kar do. Agli baar kabhi akele nahi chhodungi, pinky promise.”

“Pinky promise, Mumma?” Aashvi asked, her big innocent eyes searching for reassurance.

“Pinky promised,” the woman smiled, kissing her daughter’s cheek softly. “Now, go brush your teeth and get ready. Warna school ke liye late ho jaogi. Tab tak main tumhara favorite breakfast bana deti hoon.”

Aashvi giggled, her tears forgotten in an instant. “Okay, boss!” She planted a kiss on her mother’s cheek and ran off.

“Aashvi, don’t run! You’ll get hurt!” she called out, shaking her head fondly.

As the little girl disappeared down the hallway, the woman stood there, lost in her thoughts. She closed her eyes, and a single tear escaped, trailing down her cheek.

Flashback

A pair of strong arms wrapped around her from behind, pulling her into a warm embrace.

“What are you doing, babe?” a deep, playful voice whispered into her ear before pressing a soft kiss on her cheek.

She smiled, leaning into the familiar warmth. “Adarsh, I’m working. Don’t disturb me.”

“There’s nothing wrong in loving my beautiful wife, Yashi,” he murmured, nuzzling her neck. “And I don’t want to wait.”

Yashi giggled, trying to push him away. “Ouch! Adarsh!” she squealed when he playfully bit her cheek.

“Go away! Let me finish my work first,” she scolded lightly, placing a quick kiss on his cheek before pushing him off.

Adarsh smirked. “Fine, fine. But when I come back, we’re continuing this.” He winked at her before walking away.

Yashi chuckled, shaking her head at his antics.

End of Flashback

Her eyes snapped open, glistening with unshed tears. The warmth of those memories only deepened the cold emptiness in her heart.

Suddenly, a pair of small arms wrapped around her from behind.

“Mumma, bohot bhook lagi!” Aashvi’s voice pulled her back to the present. The little girl looked up at her mother with curious eyes. “Mumma, aapki aankhein red kyun hain?”

Yashi quickly wiped her tears and smiled. “Kuch nahi, baccha. I’m sorry, aapko wait karna pada. Chalo, mumma abhi apni chhoti jaan ko yummy breakfast deti hai.”
