Third PERSON POV
Suddenly, the door swung open, and Ananya walked inside, holding a file in her hands.
As soon as Yashi saw her, her face turned pale.
You might be wondering how Yashi knew Ananya. Well, Ananya was Adarsh's old college mate-they had studied at the same medical school. Yashi had known her since then, and she was well aware that Ananya had a massive crush on Adarsh, a crush that still lingered.
Ananya's eyes widened in shock as she took in Yashi's presence. "Yashi, you here? How?" she asked, her voice laced with surprise.
Yashi stammered, "I-I just came here for a checkup."
Before Ananya could question further, Adarsh's stern voice cut through the air. "Can I know why you are in my office, Dr. Ananya?"
Ananya turned to him with a bright smile. "Oh, yes, Adarsh. I needed your help with a case, so I came to discuss it with you."
"Which case? Show me," he said, extending his hand.
Ananya stepped closer and handed him the file, but while Adarsh focused on its contents, her gaze remained fixed on him. Meanwhile, Yashi, sitting nearby, watched them both, her grip tightening on the edge of her seat.
Suddenly, she let out a loud scream. "AAAAA!"
Startled, Adarsh immediately put the file down and rushed toward her, concern evident in his eyes. "What happened, Yashi? Are you okay? Are you in pain? Tell me!" he asked, his voice filled with worry.
Yashi clutched her stomach, fake tears brimming in her eyes. "Y-Yes," she whimpered.
Adarsh frowned. "Your stomach? That too so suddenly? How?"
"How would I know?" Yashi snapped, glaring at him. "You're the doctor here, not me! And pain doesn't exactly come with a warning, does it?"
Adarsh sighed, trying to calm her down. "Alright, alright. Dr. Ananya, you can go ask Dr. Rahul for help. He should be free now."
Ananya clenched her jaw, clearly irritated, but she nodded nonetheless. "Okay, Adarsh," she said. Before leaving, she shot a glare at Yashi, who, in return, smirked victoriously.
As soon as Ananya left, Adarsh turned back to Yashi. "Come, I'll check your stomach."
Yashi blinked. "Why?"
Adarsh crossed his arms. "Because a few minutes ago, you were complaining about stomach pain."
"Oh, that?" Yashi laughed nervously. "It's fine now."
Adarsh narrowed his eyes. "Fine? Just like that? How?"
"Ugh, seriously, are you a doctor or a police officer? Why are you interrogating me so much?" she huffed. "It's fine now, so let it go. What's the problem?"
Everything clicked in Adarsh's mind at that moment. He crossed his arms and gave her a pointed look. "Yashi," he said in a firm tone, "why did you do that?"
Yashi blinked innocently. "What?"
Adarsh raised an eyebrow. "You know exactly what I'm talking about."
"No, I don't," she insisted, turning her face away from him.
Adarsh let out a small chuckle, shaking his head. He knew very well-she was jealous.
Yashi cleared her throat. "Can I go home now?"
Adarsh smirked. "Oh, about that-no. You can't. Not until your reports come in."
"Whyyy?" she whined dramatically.
"Stop whining, Yashi. It won't work," Adarsh said, unfazed by her antics. He then called for the nurse.
"Nurse Nae, can you please accompany Miss Yashi to her room?"
"Of course, sir." The nurse turned to Yashi. "Please, ma'am, this way."
Yashi shot Adarsh a deadly glare, as if promising revenge, but he only laughed at her frustration.
Once she was escorted to her hospital room, she found Shruti sitting there, engrossed in her laptop.
Yashi plopped down on the bed and, as soon as the nurse left, bombarded Shruti with questions. "Why did you bring me here?"
Shruti, still focused on her screen, responded casually, "You were sick, remember?"
Yashi narrowed her eyes. "Shruti, you know exactly what I'm asking about."
Shruti finally set her laptop aside and sighed. "Oh, that?" She leaned back. "Well, you know I'm dating Rudransh, right? After what happened yesterday, I got a call from him. He told me how guilty and upset Adarsh was feeling-how much it affected him. So, I forgave him. And besides, in the early morning, it's hard to get a room anywhere else. So now, you know why I brought you here."
Yashi hesitated. "B-But..."
Shruti's expression softened. "Listen, Yashi. I know you're hurt. He broke you. But tell me something-did you ever punish Aashvi for the first mistake she made? No, right? You believe in second chances. So why can't you give Adarsh another chance?"
Yashi looked down, her voice barely above a whisper. "I need time for all this, Shruti... please."
Shruti smiled gently. "Of course. Take your time and think properly."
Just then, the nurse entered the room with a tray. "Miss, here are your medicines. Sir sent them for you."
Yashi took the medicines without protest, feeling the exhaustion settle in her body. Soon after, she drifted off into sleep.
ON THE OTHER SIDE
Vaishnavi folded her arms as she glared at the person in front of her. "Tum yaha phir se?"
The other person smirked. "Tum yaha abhi bhi?"
