Third PERSON POV
Just as Shreyansh was about to leave, his phone rang. It was none other than Yashi.
ON THE CALL
Shreyansh: "Hello... where are you?"
Yashi: "We need to go. Come fast with Aashvi."
Shreyansh: "What happened? Is everything okay? And-Aashvi's doctor wants to meet you."
Yashi: "Some guests are coming home, so I need to leave. You talk to him and update me later. Please bring Aashvi with you-I have to stop by the office first."
Shreyansh: "Oh... okay. Take care."
As the call ended, Shreyansh turned back to Adarsh, who seemed lost in thought, his expression unreadable.
Shreyansh: "Sir? Sir, what are you thinking? We really need to go fast-please tell me what you wanted to say."
Adarsh snapped out of his thoughts. "Yeah, I'm sorry." He quickly briefed Shreyansh about Aashvi's check-up and the shots she still needed.
Shreyansh: "Okay, thank you, sir. I'll make sure Yashi knows about this."
Adarsh merely hummed in response, his mind elsewhere. The mention of that name-Yashi-sent a wave of anger crashing through him. Could it really be her? The same woman who destroyed me? His hands clenched into fists at the mere thought.
Before he could dwell further, Aashvi suddenly jumped down from Shreyansh's arms and wrapped herself around Adarsh's leg.
Aashvi: "You're the best, doctor uncle! Thank you!"
A soft chuckle escaped Adarsh's lips as he lifted her into his arms. "You don't need to thank me, sweetheart. I should be the one thanking you-I got to spend time with such an amazing little girl."
Aashvi giggled, planting a quick kiss on his cheek. Adarsh held her close, savoring the warmth of the moment. He didn't understand why, but a strange sense of belonging filled his heart. He didn't want to let go.
But someone else wasn't amused by the sight.
Shreyansh: "Agar tum dono ka Bharat Milap ho gaya ho, can we leave now?" he teased. "Aashvi, come on, baby. We need to go."
Reluctantly, Adarsh put Aashvi down and waved as she walked away, her tiny hand clutching Shreyansh's. As the door shut behind them, a lone tear escaped from his eyes.
FLASHBACK
"Adarsh, Adarsh! Listen, let's decide our baby's name! Come on!" Yashi clapped her hands excitedly.
"Baby's name?" Adarsh raised an eyebrow. "But we're not having a baby right now. Why so sudden, my baby girl?" He kissed her forehead.
"Just because! Come on, it'll be fun!"
"Okay, okay," he chuckled. "Tell me what you've thought of."
"I don't know about a boy's name," Yashi admitted. "But if we have a girl, I want to name her Aashvi."
Adarsh smiled. "That's a beautiful name. But why Aashvi? And what if it's a boy?"
"It's Adarsh + Yashi-Aashvi!" she giggled. "Shruti actually suggested it to me today. Isn't it cute and meaningful? And if it's a boy... we can name him Aashyath!"
Adarsh listened with admiration, his eyes shining with warmth. Her giggles were pure music to his ears.
"Wow, my intelligent girl," he teased, tapping her nose. "Now that we've done the namkaran of our future kids, can we eat? I need to feed that little tummy of yours."
He tickled her, making her burst into laughter. Their room is filled with joy, warmth, and endless love.
FLASHBACK ENDS
Adarsh blinked back at his tears. "Aashvi... meri Aashvi," he whispered.
His heart pounded as realization hit him like a storm. The little girl... she was his daughter. His Aashvi.
MEANWHILE...
Yashi stormed into the school principal's office, her blood boiling as she laid eyes on a woman she despised-Miss Sashi.
"Sir, can you tell me exactly what happened?" she asked, barely containing her fury.
The principal explained everything. Each word made Yashi's heart ache. Tears welled in her eyes as she imagined what her nanni si jaan had gone through.
She was angry. But most of all, she was angry at herself. I failed again. I failed to protect my daughter. I lost another battle.
Her fists clenched as she turned toward Miss Sashi. "How dare you?! How could you say such things to a child? Shame on you!"
Miss Sashi smirked. "Kya galat bola maine? Tum khud toh characterless ho, aur waisi hi tumhari beti bhi hai."
Yashi's palm itched to slap her, but she held herself back. She had more important things to do.
Turning to the principal, she declared, "Sir, I'm taking Aashvi home. She won't be attending school for at least a week. Thank you."
Without waiting for a response, she stormed out. She didn't trust herself to stay any longer-she might end up doing something she'd regret.
As she walked toward the medical room, her phone buzzed with a message. Special guests are coming to meet you today.
Her steps faltered. Something about this felt off.
A strange feeling tugged at her heart. Instead of heading to the office, she made a sudden decision. She needed to go home.
And when she finally pushed open the door-
"SURPRISEEEEEE!"
