The villain grinned evilly as they watched the battered ninja in the vengestone cage hanging above a pit of spikes.
Most of them had bruises and cuts all over their bodies, Zane and Pixal were covered in dents, scrapes and minor parts of their metal was missing. Cole's nose had been busted, blood trickling down his face as he studied the cuffs around his wrists. Jay's left eye was covered by a patch, after being rendered useless by the wizard's minions.
"I've won, Ninjago is mine," They announced. "I've beaten you, ninja. Give up, there's no hope." They turned back to their army, but stopped when laughter echoed through the room. They whipped around, trying to locate the source of the noise.
The ninja looked back, seeing Cole laughing like he'd gone insane. They all stared at him.
"I think Cole's finally cracked," Pixal whispered as tears rolled down the Earth Elemental's cheeks.
"What's so funny, you've lost!" The villain yelled, causing Cole to slow his breathing.
"Sorry." He wiped a tear from the corner of his eye, flicking it away. "I just find it hilarious you think this is the end." The enemy glared at the teen while the others looked confused.
"Bring him out." The cage door was unlocked, and Cole was roughly dragged out, still bearing a twisted smile. He was brought in front of the sorcerer, who looked like they might explode from anger.
"Alright, wise guy. You're going to tell me exactly why this 'isn't over'. I control Ninjago now. I am a King and a God. You are neither of those things." A dark shadow crossed over Cole's face as he bent his head down.
"You're right, I'm not." The villain seemed proud of himself, until Earth spoke again.
"I am so much worse."
The cuffs slipped through his wrists, falling to the floor with a loud clank. Cole shot forward, a stalagmite bursting through the ground. It hit the sorcerer in the chest, sending them flying backwards.
"How the-" Cole stepped closer.
"Y'know, you really should've invested in some deepstone cuffs. Pretty handy when your enemy is part ghost." The villain backed away, yelling to their followers.
"Drop the others, you buffoons!" The cage disconnected, falling towards the pit. The occupants started screaming as their feet lifted from the floor. Cole flicked an arm up, not taking his eyes off the enemy.
A vine shot out of the ceiling, grabbing hold of the cage before it reached the spikes.
"Nice try, wizard boy. Let me show you some real power." A blast of purple left Cole's hand, hitting the lock on the cage, allowing the ninja to escape.
Black smoke surrounded the Elemental, his eyes turning purple and red. His scar and arms glowed a bright orange. Charcoal Oni scales replaced parts of his skin, and as he drew closer, he grew several feet taller.
"Please, have mercy!" The wizard begged. Cole chuckled, his voice thunderous, almost like there were multiple of him. He regarded the shaking form with slight disgust.
"If you can give me a reason, I might not turn you to stone." The sorcerer's eyes widened, their fear prominent on their face.
"Y-you're a ninja? Ninja d-don't kill." Cole grabbed their neck, lifting them of the ground.
"My, my. You are painfully incorrect."
"W-well, what a-about your Master? H-he doesn't approve m-murder."
"I'm sure he'll understand, seeing as you tried to kill him first."
"Y-your friends?"
"You've blinded Jay in his left eye. Nya's legs are fractured. Zane and Pixal are close to shutting down. You burnt Kai with his own element, and tried to disfigure Lloyd. You have sorely underestimated us, and I'm going to show you what happens when you cross me."
Stone started gradually creeping up the villain's legs. Cole let go of them, watching them drop to the floor and try to run away in their paralyzed state.
Eventually, they were completely covered in stone, a pathetic expression on their face. The minions dispersed into dust, now that their master's magic no longer worked.
"Cole?" Turning, he saw his family walking up to him, their cuffs removed and a look of shock on their faces. However, they were all smiling, and Cole let out a breath, feeling his strength drain away.
He closed his eyes, falling down as his powers receded and he shrunk back to his normal height. Zane caught him, gently lowering the exhausted Elemental onto the ground. The nindroid moved a hair out of his brother's face, watching as Cole's expression softened and his form relaxed.
"Is he ok?" Jay whispered, sitting next to them. Zane nodded.
"He's just resting; using that much power will take a lot out of anyone. He'll be fine after a few hours of sleep."
"I had no idea he was able to do any of that," Lloyd commented, helping Nya to sit down.
"I don't think he really did either," Pixal responded. She looked over to Cole, smiling softly. "It's a good thing he could though, or things could have gone very badly for Ninjago. And us, for that matter."
Kai kicked the stone figure lightly. "Remind me to never get on Cole's bad side," He joked, making everyone laugh.
"We should get going, we need to get patched up," Zane stated, pulling Cole onto his back before standing up.
