Dress Code

Ships: Pixane, Jaya, slight Lava

"As I thank you to the Ninja for all you've done, you have been invited to attend the New Years' Celebration event at Town Hall."

The team's jaws dropped. Wu stepped forward.

 "Thank you, Mayor, they're honoured to receive this invitation," He said before bowing slightly.

"Of course, we're honoured to invite you," The Mayor responded. Then a person from behind the podium spoke up.

"I for one can't wait to see you there." He glanced at Nya. "Especially when there'll be a certain raven in a fancy dress." Jay and Kai's immense death stare, not to mention Nya's look of disgust and Pixal's one of horror, made the man back down into the crowd of the Mayor's relatives and companions again.

"Why you little-," Nya started, before Cole yanked her back and whispered something into her ear. Whatever he must have said was funny, for she wore a wicked grin after and stayed silent the rest of the announcement.

"So Cole, what did you say to Nya?" Kai asked when they got back.

"Yea, she didn't try and attack the guy like she normally does," Lloyd added, before being whacked in the arm by the water elemental.

"He didn't say anything, just some piece of dirt he had on the guy to convince me it wasn't worth it." Cole nodded in agreement, staying silent as he thought if he opened his mouth laughter would escape instead of words.

"Sure? But you rarely back down from a fight Nya, are you ok?" Jay questioned, to which his fiancé nodded vigorously.

"All right, so you all have one week to prepare for the event, Pixal included," Wu stated as he stepped into the monastery.

"Obviously Pix is included; she's part of the team too," Cole finally spoke, making Pixal smile.

"Thank you Cole, but what are we all wearing?" Pixal wondered as the teens stepped into the game room to brainstorm.

"All right, so we all wearing our gi colours?" Lloyd asked, the others confirming. "Or in Pixal's case, her Samurai X colours."

"Affirmative, that would be the sliver, blue and gold of my suit," Pixal added, giddy that she would be attending her first proper event with the team. Zane smiled warmly at her as he wrote down the colour palettes for all of them.

"I'm adding touches of orange to my outfit," Cole told the nindroid, who nodded and jotted it down.

"Speaking of which, I think we should all match," Jay blurted out. Everyone waited for him to explain. "Like we all wear matching suits, or if Pixal and Nya want to wear dresses, they match."

"That's not a bad idea, but we might have to get some of them tailored depending on the suits or dresses we get." Zane scribbled more notes down. Cole and Nya glanced at each other, smirking, before Nya whispered something to Pixal. The nindroid's jaw hung loose for a second, then she too started giggling.

"What the heck is going on with you lot?" Kai asked, looking at the three startled team members.

"Huh?" Cole answered, a look of confusion across his face.

"Never mind, who's grabbing the stuff?" Lloyd cut in.

"I'll do it," Nya offered.

"You'll require a second person, allow me to assist you," Pixal added.

"Alright, guess that's settled, now just getting the clothes."

Two days before the event, Nya and Pixal brought back the finished outfits, distributing them among each ninja.
