"What do you mean Laura's fighting Xander?" I ask my sons completely confused
My brothers, their wives, and my parents are all sitting outside on the patio. Some of my eldest nephews are with us too— just catching up on what's been happening in our lives this past year.
Alessandro, Matteo, Elijah, and Lorenzo came outside looking frantic.
"Xander finally pushed Laura over the edge. She said she's done with his bullshit, and they are going to sort it out by fighting" Matteo explains
"Uncle Salvatore, I don't know if this is a good idea" Lorenzo says following Matteo's comment
"Why not?" I ask the kids
Lorenzo looks uneasy, "Because Xander is one of the best fighters in your mafia. He's undefeated in Underground Fights. And" he looks to the women "men, on average, are stronger than women. Yes, women can be stronger, but Xander is two years older than her. He's also like 7 inches taller than Laura. If Laura fights him she could get really hurt—more than she already is."
"I think she should do it" Alessandro disagrees
I nod for him to elaborate. "Laura has put up with Xander calling her names for two full weeks. And we haven't done anything about it. We all know he cares about her, but he's still not showing Laura that. She needs to fight this out with him. They are both aggressive people so I think this might actually work— even if she loses. We'll have Stefano there to make sure no one gets hurt too badly. And if either of them look too bad we'll end the fight."
"She needs to do this Dad" Alessandro whispers with pleading eyes
I close my eyes rubbing my temples. Xander is acting like a douche. Laura could get hurt. She is already injured, but I don't think she would put herself in a situation she can't get out of.
Yes, Xander is an excellent fighter. But I've seen Laura break a punching bag...twice. She has training and power behind her hits.
"Are they fighting right now?" I ask the boys
They shake their heads. "Laura said at noon she's going to, and I quote, kick his ass" Elijah replies smirking
Checking the watch on my left wrist, I see it's 11:30. "Alright. So...are we doing bets?" I ask joyfully
"You can't be serious!" Lilah and Sophia say in shock
"What?" I shrug my shoulders amused. "We always bet on fights anyway."
"Not that!" Lilah exclaims, slapping my shoulder. "You're letting them fight?!"

"Yes" I reply standing up. "I don't like how my kids don't get along, but if this fixes their problems then that's how it's going to be." I explain
