Osmin's POV

It was an unannounced promise between wolf and witch that after things were settled, they were going to get married, have pups, and enjoy whatever was left of their miserable lives together.

With Rhea, and the promise of a way out, Osmin had made the miscalculation on a few accounts—That today his brother wanted to explore further into the mountain with a subsection of males, as well as bringing along his most trusted advisors and such.

It was most certainly Deverin's mistake on not inviting Osmin as now, that meant his indiscretion of checking the docs was easier without the King being able to put his word in.

Yet the first howl that declared war, Osmin and the rest of those filling the doc had shifted forward and rushed in return back to the territory—Only to find it in disarray, considering that the talismans Lillian had created were doing a fair job in disguising it within the rest of the clouds so no one else needed to witness this massacre.

It was a miscalculation, a moment of weakness, a distraction—To check on Lillian then head straight towards his brother and Rhea. The amount of betrayal wafting through the air was what put her in danger as is, it was so clear to see that humans would benefit from the downfall of their Lycan superiors that the anger coursing through his brother's mind was monumental the closer he got after Lillian had screamed for him to check on her.

How foolish had she been?

To go directly to a death sentence at a beckoning call?

Not to mention that her devoted males were willing to risk everything. It was such an eye-opener to see how the humans functioned together as one unit, he had assumed that they weren't as in sync as he and his fellow brothers were.

Osmin admitted he was wrong, just as he stood in front of his brother as he suffered for the last few moments with his head buried deep into the ground—Having fallen chest first only caused the pike to sink further into his heart.

Making the process quicken.

However, when his eyes flickered to Rhea—They bulged at the site—So consumed by the other scents, he couldn't even pick up on the fact that she was bleeding.

"Os. Get Lillian." Gilroy ushered, his hands trying to press Rhea's ripped underskirts to use as a cloth to stop the wound from bleeding out. But clearly, it wasn't offering much support.

"O-on it!...LILLIAN! Get your kit! Rhea's down!" The shout hadn't made it to the tent, but what did was the mimicked shouts from the humans to pass the message to the Healer, and Osmin caught her peeking out of the tent once more.

Fear was written across her face. Almost as if she too were in pain.

Men, you know who to target.

Was all he offered through his private link, and the pack he arrived with had started to attack the unsuspecting males—The very ones that taunted and attacked the humans without proper cause.

There was discipline and there was abuse, and even Osmin flinched when he caught the better half of the torture that happened within the talisman's line.

Funny how they couldn't handle a fraction of pain—As Osmin kept his males in top shape and trained them as if they were his own gang of Enforcers under his command.

Lillian was shouting for the crowd building around them to make way, and Osmin did his best to meet her in the middle and escort her the rest of the way. Yet he growled when she fell desperately to her knees and started to get to work stopping the bleeding.
