Alpha Queen Amory's POV

With the Queen's traveling party making the trips back and forth from the Carriage. Amory had remained idly by the sides as both Lyall and Dane had secured the perimeter before coming to the conclusion it was safe for her to enter inside.

She had sent others earlier to try and add to the cabinets and clean the dust that no doubt collected over time.

It had been so long since Amory had entertained the thought of a peaceful time away from the Kingdom—Away from the throne. The closest town was about a ten-minute carriage ride, and the nearby neighbor wasn't so nearby considering how large the property line is.

But as Amory had taken a seat on the plush couch, she smiled in delight to see Dane take inventory of just how the Summer Manor looked now that he wasn't looking for a sign of intruders.

"Most of the furniture was replaced by Rom before I arrived for our Honeymoon."
"Hm, some of the things funded the refugee farm. I remember that time a little too well." It wasn't often that the male refused to look at his Queen, but this was most certainly that time.

"Then it was worth it...In the grand scheme of it all." She continued to keep her gaze fixated on her male, perking her lips as he continued to survey the living area.

"Are they angry they couldn't come?" It was fairly easy for Dane to piece together who she meant, but truly, what was the harm in asking?

"No. Though I am sure Osmin attempted to add himself to the Enforcers outside. But the pup is demanding, given their halfie status—Only so much your research can tell for a witch." It had caused Amory to still at that prospect, not knowing what her blood meant was truly coming to the forefront of her worries.

Never mind the idea of actually dealing with being pregnant. Gods, why was this just now becoming a fear?

"...The rest of them might pretend to be busy, but we also don't want to be near the King when he turns territorial on you."
"Dane, that's only happened—"
"Four times, best not to repeat it for a fifth." It was clear that's why he wasn't touching a single thing, hardy wanting to touch the doors. So Amory leaned further into the sofa and knawed on her thumb.

"Well, two of those I excused. The others were...Almost collateral damage." Dane smirked, knowing that the furniture that the King had scrambled to replace was pointless when Amory knew without a doubt it was not original.

"Delta Lyall had some wolves place an order in the town for a delivery."
"Then I'll wash off the travels, make yourself at home." It was a kind gesture, one that Dane didn't feel all too comfortable to accept until Lyall had carried the bundles from the rest of the guards outside and organized them onto the table.

"Stop your fussing. The King knows your scent mingles with the Queen's, you're doing your duty." Dane groaned at the Delta's antagonizing reminder of the fact that the wolf was easily moving throughout the home.

No, Dane was in his right to worry. Something was not right, and his gut instinct had only confirmed when Amory had come down after doing just as she had.

"That smells amazing...Is it the broiled beef from town?"
"Indeed it is. One of the maids put in the order this morning." Lyall sang, managing to get the plates together for the three of them. Creating a mix-match sort of meal, yet all it took was one look towards the window from the Queen before Dane chuckled.

"They have their own meals they're enjoying, your majesty." It wasn't the only reason, but reason enough for Amory to direct her attention back to the gorgeous meal set in front of her.
