BAJI WAS nowhere to be found after he caused a scene at the last Toman meeting. You tried visiting his house but his mom would tell you he was either at school or staying late at school. Which was an obvious lie.

You knew he was most likely at the new meetup place of his new gang but you just didn't know where. Mikey didn't want you sneaking around or even trying to solve the mystery of why Baji quit.

He firmly told you that he would help handle everything while you try distracting yourself from thoughts about Baji.

Baji's absence took a toll on him. He was a treasured companion. He was the main reason why Toman even existed in the first place and now he turned his back on Toman, stating that he was now an enemy to the entire gang he used to care for.

While that was a growing problem, everything back in your life was decent. Still, you couldn't push thoughts about Baji away.

At school, Mikey would regularly attend with you. It's strange for everyone else to see the guy who misses half of the school perfect his attendance.

Mikey was only keeping his promise and it wasn't like he was paying attention to the discussions, he was only there for the sake of being by your side.

He'd spend the entire school day either asleep or staring at you while you work on your notes and study. He was bored out of his mind and the only thing he was looking forward to was lunchtime and dismissal.

The teachers couldn't be bothered with him, so they just let him sleep.

The last bell of the day finally rang after centuries of waiting for it. Mikey almost jumped from his seat when the bell woke him up from his nap. There were many things that Mikey didn't like and that was being woken up.

But if it meant he was going home then it was the best thing that could ever happen. Bless that bell.

"Hurry up (name)!!" He impatiently waited outside your classroom for you to finish packing your things.

Mikey wanted to eat something because sleeping all day drained all the energy out of him. That was an odd fact about Mikey. He'd sleep for the entire day and still be tired.

"Finally" he sighed when you finally stepped out of the classroom with your bags and things. You only playfully rolled your eyes at him before he offered his arm for you to cling to.

You wrapped your arm around his and the two of you walked out of the school grounds together. The two of you were talking about what you wanted to order when somebody called Mikey's name from behind you.

Mikey's brows furrowed in confusion as he stopped and turned to see who was calling out for him. You did the same and found Takemichi running up to the both of you, struggling to catch his breath.

"Oh! Takemichy." Mikey chirped, smiling so brightly at the sight of his friend.

Takemichi only offered a brief smile at the two of you, since he was busy catching his breath. He had his hands on his knees, attempting to calm himself down so he could clearly explain everything. "it's about.. baji."

Both your eyes widen at the mention of his name. Takemichi caught your interest and you needed to hear everything he needed to say.

Mikey turned to glance at you. "Stay here, me and Takemichi will talk." He lets go of your arm but you stopped him from walking away by grabbing his arm. "No, I'm staying. I want to hear everything. You can't just brush me away Mikey, baji is my friend too."

Takemichi gulped when he saw how you stood your ground against Mikey. He'd never have the courage to even raise his voice at Mikey but then again, you were his childhood friend.

Knowing he can't say no to you, Mikey eventually agreed to your request. He wanted to give you some peace of mind too and hopefully, takemichi had some good news to share.

You heard that Takemichi became an official member of Toman a week ago after what happened at the last meeting. He was assigned to Mitsuya's division, which was extremely fortunate for him because if it had been anyone else then he'd have a black eye or worse.

You also learned that he made a deal with Mikey to bring Baji back, which you saw wasn't that successful. You couldn't blame Takemichi, if Baji wanted to do something he truly wants to do then there was no stopping him.

His childhood friends couldn't even stop him from leaving, let alone Takemichi who he barely even knows.

"Baji-san he said didn't want to come back and there is nothing you could do to stop him. I'm sorry Mikey, I tried everything but he just wouldn't listen to me." Takemichi sounded distraught and disappointed.

"And I also met Kazutora."

That was the only thing Takemichi shouldn't have mentioned. One look at Mikey and you could tell that he wanted the man to stop talking. He was glaring at the ground, resentment oozing from how his eyes went blank.

"He brought me to the toman hideout a few days ago.. where baji officially-"

"(Name), let's go home." Mikey didn't let Takemichi finish. He didn't want to hear about the boy who killed his older brother. Kazutora served two years in juvenile for that crime and he was back.

Mikey didn't know how he should feel as he was still struggling to overcome the grief and pain brought by his trusted friend.

Mikey started walking away without waiting for either of the two of you. You sent Takemichi an apologetic glance and went to catch up with Mikey but Takemichi called out to you before you could.

"(Name), kazutora said he wanted to talk with you."

Fortunately, Mikey was far enough that he couldn't hear what Takemichi said, nor did he stop to turn back and check if you were following close behind.

You froze on your spot, eyes wide and fists clenched. "He wanted to talk about what happened that night. I didn't know what he meant but-"

Once again, takemichi wasn't allowed to finish his sentence. In haste, you interrupted him. "I'll be there. Thank you takemichi and I'm sorry- I need to go. If you find out anything about Baji let me know."

You waved goodbye to the boy and ran up to Mikey, who was turning to the next street without even noticing you were gone for a few seconds. He appeared to be preoccupied with his thoughts.
