A FEW WEEKS have passed since the incident and you've been recovering slowly. Fortunately, you've been allowed to get discharged early but still, you had to support yourself with a pair of crutches as your broken leg needed at least another few weeks to heal.

The bruises and cuts on your body have healed well. Although your body was able to recover from the physical damage of the incident, you still couldn't forget about what had happened in that dark alleyway.

Mikey as expected, has never left your side for the last few weeks you've been recovering. He insisted to sleep on the same bed, even though it wasn't needed.

Your arms were okay, but he kept on insisting on feeding you. He made your food but burnt most of them so he had to ask for Emma's assistance or buy food outside.

When you want to move to a specific area, he carries you instead of helping you with your crutches. It's unbelievable how strong he was and he was able to carry you with ease.

You also caught him hiding your crutches in places he's sure you couldn't reach or find.

Mikey is more affectionate and caring, you noticed. The memory of you laying on that hospital bed broke his heart. It replayed in his mind over and over. He didn't want that to happen again and he wanted to do everything to make sure it wouldn't.

It came to the point where he appeared overprotective and clingy, but in truth, he was nothing but concerned for you.

What if you get hurt again when he's not there? What if those guys come back?

Since your parents were rarely around, Mikey offered to be your caretaker without second thoughts. He's not a fairly decent caretaker by any means but at least he tries his best.

One Time, he accidentally stepped on your broken leg and tripped. Fortunately, he didn't break his leg.

Another time, he wanted to feed you some warm soup but he blew it too hard and it burned your face.

Regardless of his amusing mistakes as your caretaker, you were thankful that Mikey was there for you. He was very patient and nurturing, making you wonder where the clumsy and childish Mikey went.

He was there to reassure you. He knew that the fact that the people who hurt you were still roaming free despite the damage they did to you and he was confident about seeking revenge, in secret of course.

Many of your friends from Toman also visited. Mitsuya often brought you some home-cooked meals (Mikey ate most of them) and checked up on your injuries.

Draken brought fruits and scolded Mikey about how much of a terrible caretaker he was after hearing about the soup incident. Eventually, he learns how to laugh about it and teases Mikey.

Takemichi also visited you very often. You owed him your life and you were forever in his dept. If he wasn't there to push you out of the way, you wouldn't be here. He had risked his life for you- a person he barely knows and you don't know how to repay him for that.

You could see that Mikey is more than thankful to Takemichi. He even gifted him an item that once belonged to Shinichiro, which he truly treasured.

It was to show his gratitude but he knew that no mere item can pay for the amazing deed Takemichi has done. Mikey will forever be thankful, and one day he will return the favor.

Because of Takemichi, he's still spending his days with you. He can still smile and continue to make happy memories with you.

You told him about what had happened that day. How you met a man and how you fought his men off while he watched in amusement from afar as if it was a show put on for him to enjoy.

You purposefully left out his name because of the deal he had proposed when he was running off into the distance.

MIKEY HELD a spoon over you with warm tomato soup that Emma made. "Say ahh" Mikey opened his mouth, demonstrating.

Emma watched the scene unfold with utmost amusement and childlike excitement. A scene that would only appear in her cliche tv dramas was happening in real life.

"Mikey, my hands are not injured. You might burn my face again."

Mikey turned red from the embarrassing memory of his past failure but he brushes it away, trying to act cool. "No, I insist." He brings the spoon to you which left you no choice but you taste the soup.

As expected of Emma's wonderful cooking skills, the soup tasted divine. Mikey seemed pretty pleased just seeing you eating the soup he prepared and a proud smile rested on his face.

"Just date already." Emma scoffed.

Mikey smiled at the opportunity brought by Emma and he quickly glanced at you to check on your reaction. You grew flustered at the idea of you dating Mikey, as you've always remained platonic and it never seemed to cross your mind until now.

"I heard most childhood friends end up together," Mikey added and Emma supported his idea, nodding happily. "I've always wondered if the two of you will get together," Emma said.

You look away from them, feeling pressured to answer and you don't have a proper answer to any of their statements.

Emma had to leave because it was getting dark and Mikey took her home with the promise of getting back after dropping her off. He didn't want his little sister to walk home alone at this hour and he would be back as soon as he made sure she arrived safely.

You had your house all to yourself for the next twenty minutes or so, as it was raining outside and it will take Mikey a while to get drive back and forth.

-

Mikey went to his bathroom to freshen up before he went over back to your place. He packed himself a new back of clothes and items he needed.

Emma stormed inside his room with a deep frown. "Mikey!" She yelled but the man didn't hear her due to the water continuously muffling any sounds outside of the bathroom. "Where the hell did you put my lotion?!"

Upset because of the disappearance of her favorite scented lotion, she dug around Mikey's shelves and drawers in search of it. She knew Mikey had a history of stealing her things and never lost the habit.

She huffed as she bent down over his bed and found a tin box. That must be where he kept it.

Emma grabbed the tin box and was surprised by how light it was. She expected it to be full of items, her lotion being one of them but as she opened the lid, she found nothing. Disappointed, she tried putting it back.

"What are you doing sneaking through my stuff?" Mikey's voice came from the bathroom door and Emma looked up to see him crossing his arms over his chest and glaring down at her.

Mikey wore fresh clothes and a towel over his damp hair. He walked over to her and snatched the empty tin from her grasp. "For the last time, I didn't steal anything!"

Emma rolled her eyes before she stomped out of his bedroom, still incredibly upset because she couldn't find her lotion.

Mikey watched her leave and once she turned the hallway leading to her bedroom, Mikey slammed the door shut and made sure to lock it in case she comes barging in again.

He puts the tin box down on his bedside table, along with the now damp towel. He walked over to his closet and opened the two doors. He pushed a small door open, revealing a small compartment filled to the brim with memorabilia-- of you.

Items such as jewelry, hair ties, clothes, and school supplies, he has it all. Items he collected through the years. He treasures all of them deeply, and he's very protective of them. He doesn't want anyone to see them.

It surprises him how you haven't reacted when you saw his small collection inside the tin box. He thought you would be disgusted at him, something he is afraid of but he is confused as to why you're acting as though you've never come across it.

Why did you never approach him about it? He thought you would be upset.
