DETECTIVE JACK: THE STUDY ABOUT THE BLOODHOUNDS

CHAPTER 6: TWO NIGHTS BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF THE COURT

Our duo was busy for some days (as they were preparing for the court case) and Alex knew that they had filed a court case against him, not only him in fact every one of the police station knew about it. But everyone was told not to leak the things to the media as it would result in a havoc.
                        Only two days were left Jack had most of the evidence, he could see their victory now. So, he called James to his home, to party. But they did not know what was waiting for them.
‘Have you thought anything of your future?’ asked James
‘What future?’ replied Jack
‘You know James? Sometimes I find it very odd that you know a lot of things but never think about human behaviour and your future too?’ said James
‘Just ask the straight question James.’ said Jack
‘What will you do after this case? I mean you will be all over the news after solving a case like this. So will you continue with the police or you will do something else?’ asked James
‘Never thought of it particularly James. But what about becoming a professional private detective?’ suggested Jack
‘That means this is the first and last case I am having with you.’ Said James sadly
‘No, definitely not James! You can be my assistant?’ said Jack
‘Really Jack, I will be glad to be with you!’ James said delightfully
‘But do you think we will able to make money out of it? I mean we must make a leaving out of it.’ said Jack
‘Bing bong! That is where my real part will be? You know in school I was the best essay writer. I can convert our cases into novels. I mean those can be best sellers too!’
They talked for a long time about a lot of stuff. ‘By the way Jack, I have not seen any of your family members, where are they?’ asked James
‘Yeah they have gone to India’ said Jack
‘Why?’ asked James
‘My Great Grandfather had a farmhouse in Darjeeling and a luxury villa too, they have gone there to enjoy vacation but I have sent them for other means’ said Jack, ‘James, we may be attacked tonight!’
‘ What! why?’
‘I am getting a inner feeling of that, I hope you have your pistol.’ said Jack
‘Of course, I have, also, now I understand why you have sent your parents to India, by that means they are far away from danger, right Jack?’
‘Yeah!’
The two didn’t slept they waited for their enemy. No one was coming they grew suspicious. They were bored so they decided to turn on the television to watch news, but to their surprise the television was not working.
‘I just got it repaired a week ago! Again! Oh God! I will send the mechanic to Jesus!’
‘Don’t worry Jack that is the part where I come handy! I know little about these mechanic stuff! Can I try?’
‘Yeah, I will be thankful, please’
Within an hour James fixed the television.
‘I have an idea, James! If our detective business fails then you can be a part time mechanic!’
‘Okay! Was this a compliment?’
‘Maybe’
Then they turned the BBC News the news which was being took their breath.
Th reporter said, ‘Arnold Court has been attacked by criminals, yes you heard right the court has been attacked by criminals, the police have surrounded the whole court but they could do nothing the criminals had hold renowned lawyers and judges as Coutinho Macros, Millais Shelby, John Marshall, Vinicius Marlo Wood. Oh, the head of the criminal had come out in front of police with a mic in his hand and an AK-47 tied on his back. Our cameraman is telecasting the image live from the scene.’
James and Jack continued watching the criminal wore a black mash and a black shirt. He has a muscular body and started talking, ‘Do not dare to shoot even a bullet at me! Otherwise, we will kill the judges and lawyers. We want fifty million dollars!’ saying this he went inside firing his AK-47 in the air showing style.’
‘What do we do know Jack?’
They decided to go the police station. James took out his Volkswagen and started driving it at full speed.
‘Everything is connected James, I see, you see when we were going to win then only, they attacked the court. Now for this the court will remain closed for at least a month! It would give Alex a lot of time to play his next move, they gave me threat so, we think they would attack us, I also think we are still missing something, I also do not think the mechanic who fixed my television is innocent, I was so busy these days I did not have time to turn it on. You took almost one hour to fix my TV. If we had heard of the incident before we would have arrived to save John Marshall, good move Alex but not too good to outplay me, drive faster James!’
             Suddenly the lights on the roads turned off.
‘All the lights have turned off suddenly, it’s becoming difficult to drive.’ said James
‘Something is wrong, I can feel it, this city is going to experience something terrible.’ said Jack
They reached the court, the court was in a terrible state bomb blasts could be heard.
‘What will we do now Jack?’ asked James
‘I have a plan’ said Jack, ‘We will climb to the first floor of the court from the back side, we will wear masks, put silencer on your gun James, we will go inside avoiding the vision of the gang and also, of the police as I also suspect their movements, we will have to fight save John Marshall and come out safely, if we can.’
They went inside. Jack saw a man with AK-47 roaming they must go out of the room but the man was in the front so he had to kill him. He aimed at the man’s head. The next moment the man was dead. They saw another man. Jack suddenly jumped on him. He took the gun from the and hit his back with it.
‘Where is John Marshall?’ asked Jack
‘I don’t know anything about John Marshall.’ said the man in agony
‘Okay, then tell me where are the hostages?’
‘On the second floor.’
They ran towards second floor. Suddenly they heard a cry from back of a door.
‘Ahh!’
‘Did you hear that?’ whispered James
Jack nodded his head to say yes Jack tried to hear what was going on. He heard: ‘Tell me lawyer where is all the evidence? ‘What if I do not? I see you have not cut you nails for a long time? Give me the nail cutter! I often wonder what if I cut someone’s nail too short? What if I cut yours too short? Ha ha’
‘Ahhh! No please! Ahh!’ ‘Where?’ ‘Ahh!’
Jack quickly realised the screaming was of John Marshall! He told James they have to save him!
‘But how? If we go inside suddenly, we could be killed too!!’ asked James
‘We will climb from backside of the court to this room?’
Saying this they went back again, to the back of the court.
They climbed to the window but they did not enter.
‘Why? Are we not entering? I will fall down Jack!’
Ignoring James, Jack took a grenade ‘Jack if you throw it inside John Marshall will also die!’ Again, ignoring James, Jack threw it.
It was a smoke grenade.
The room quickly filled with smoke, wearing masks Jack and James entered. They knocked down two guards. Freed John somehow and escaped.
They drove at full speed towards the hospital.
‘Drive faster James we need to take him to a hospital or ese he will die. Faster!’
‘No’ said John Marshall
‘You will die sir!’
‘I will die anyways I need to tell you where the evidences are! Ahh, it pains!’
‘Do not talk sir’
‘I must talk, throw my body in the river make sure no one would see either confide it to everyone or make it look like an accident, the clue to the evidences lies in the mouse trap, in my home! Ma-N---A-Ga----’
‘He is dead! Stop the car’ said Jack
They were on a bridge.
‘We need to throw his body in the lake.’ said Jack
‘What? Seriously he told us to and you are taking it seriously! Be practical what is others question about his disappearance? ‘
‘Do not be stupid James! If we take the body, we would be the prime suspect of killing him, that is what Alex wants us to do. It is a clear trap! Also, we heard on the news John was held by the criminals! People are master in making assumptions, they will assume that John got killed by the criminals, simple!’
They did not think anymore they threw the body made no blood mark was left anywhere.
