“Sir Owen!”
Commissioner of police Oscar Owen was carefully reading a case report, when one of his constables called him.
“Yes?”
“Mister Algebra has come to meet you.”
“Ask them to come in.”
X and Jack entered the room.
“Owen, you told us that we are free to talk to Alex whenever we want.”
“Sure X. He is in cell #5, go and talk to him. That is, if he talks. He has been real quiet since he had come.”
The two lads marched towards cell #5. In the cell, they saw Alex sitting in a corner, with eyes in deep thought.
“Alex?” asked Jack.
“Oh welcome officer. See me, once used to put criminals here, now I am here.”
X looked at Alex in the eye. A cold, calculated and scary blank stare.
Alex became a little uneasy.
“Alex, you will answer the question we ask you.”
“Hope so.” Said Alex, pretending as if he does not care about them.
“What are the names of the drug racket and the coal mafia?”
Alex was shocked by this question. He asked, “How did you-”
X gave Jack a look that said, ‘see, I was correct.’
“What if I don’t answer?”
“Well remember we have caught you not the whole bloodhound. The members will forever be after your life if I tell them that you have leaked information to us.”
“Ok. I will tell you, but remember, we are a part of a greater org. You two- can never stop us. Now that I am gone, The 3 gems will re-unite.”
“Just tell us the names Alex.”
“The coal mafia is Onyx, while the drug racket is the shadow syndicate.”
X and jack were about to leave when Alex called them.
“Yes Alex?”
“Hey X. You took information from me – meaning I helped you. You need to tell me something too.”
“What is that?”
“Your name X.”
Silence prevailed.
“Why?”
“Who would not be curious to know the name of the world’s best detective?”
The last 3 words made Jack furious. He whispered to X, “He is just going to tell his gang members your name.”
“Jack, I know that. Being the best detective of the world, I am supposed to know that.” Saying, X walked away, followed by angry Jack. Alex kept staring at them.
They have got the answer to 2 of their question. One is the names of the organisations. Another is why Umbrella organisation attacked Bloodhounders. It was because of Alex. As Alex said, “As now I am gone, they are going to re-unite.”
Alex maybe was against the umbrella org.
“Coffee?” asked X.
“Sure.” Replied Jack.
The two detectives, known by a little number of men, walked off into the horizon. Who would have guessed how much popular they would be made by the events which followed after?
