DETECTIVE JACK: THE STUDY ABOUT THE BLOODHOUNDS

CHAPTER 22: Once in a lifetime

Boeing 015 left London airport and ventured towards Siberia. On the plane, in a first-class seat, sat Jack, James and X. James was in deep sleep, Jack was reading the all-time best seller 'Supernatural' while X sipping on a cup of coffee. Jack had tried to try out X's coffee too, but found it too sweet to be drinkable.
X finished his drink and stared out the window. Nothing but darkness could be seen.
"Zemislav?" asked X to Jack.
"You have read this?"
"Or what?"
Jack closed the book, and said, "The ending was too weird."
"Honest. The ending seemed to be ambitious but weird."
They both sat silently, thinking, trying to remember the exact words of Viper.
"Hey, Jack?"
"Yes,?"
"I killed a guard in Onyx. Should the umbrella organisation be aware?"
"Maybe." He lit up a cigarette, "But something else concerns me."
X snatched the cigarette from Jack's hands and crushed it on the table.
"What happened?"
"Smoking is banned in planes, don't you know?"
Jack stared at X for a while, then said, "You know, I think the umbrella is a very small organisation."
"Why?"
"If it were big, it could have just marched with the three gems. But, I think what they did is, the three gems once signed a peace treaty. Thus, the umbrella organisation was founded which kept the 3 gems united, but as time went on, the org became the leader of the 3 gems."
X said, "And then, there must be one person in charge of the umbrella. One person controlling the 3 gems, his intelligence must be much much more than ours."

London
Cassian was seated on a chair on the bank of River Thames, when a huge car came in. A man way older than Cassian came out and stood infront of him. Cassian lit himself a smoke, and said, "Welcome Lerner."
Lerner looked at Cassian, and said, "See, Alex has been caught and yes, that means I am now the leader of Bloodhounds. But that does not mean I am forced to join Tenebris organisation?"
Cassian took a smoke, stood up and kicked the chair away. His hair was white and eyes blue, and his write eye had a cut gifting him a blindspot,making him look like Grinderwald. This made him appear like a bloodless demon. He threw away the smoke and said, "You have the independence to choose whether you want to join Tenebris or not. Alex rejected. So the 3 gems were unable to reunite while he ruled. I did not force him. But, see, he is in prison now."
Lerner said, "So the men who shot down Bloodhounders at the port, that was your arsenal."
"Smart." Cassian casually said, while offering Lerner a smoke.
"I was new then. When Marco died and Alex became the leader of Bloodhound, I had just been made the leader of Tenebris. Also then, Sapphire was constantly attacking us. I was clueless, moreover, I was only 15."
Lerner was amazed. "You were 15 when you started ruling the 3 gems!"
"Yes Lerner. I worked many years as a fighter of the chief arsenal before that."
Lerner, said to himself, "Tenebris. The organisation controlling Bloodhound, Onyx and Shadow. The organization constantly preventing Blackwood. All that, controlled by a 25 year old?"
Cassian said, "Lerner, time to decide. Joining Tenebris or not."
Lerner said, "No. Bloodhound will NOT join Tenebris." Saying, he turned and was about to leave, when Cassian said from behind, "You have three day's time."
Lerner turned, and said, "I do not need time. I have already made my decision."
"No Lerner, I know, you have already made your decision. 3 days is the time left for you to Live."
Cassian said it casually. He continued. "I was new during Alex, I am experienced now. I will not spare your life, never my man."
Lerner, a 49 year old general, started fearing Cassian.
