Chapter 34

I follow the receptionist to Dr Miller's room, I guess. The receptionist smiles at me before going back to the front desk.

"Have a seat miss..." she pauses for a moment, "Cameron?" she asks.

"That's me. Y/n is fine." I say.

"Of course y/n, whatever makes you feel most comfortable." she says. I just smile and nod. "Ok, so Mr Thorton has given me lots of information about you, such as you had a boyfriend and while you were away, he cheated on you. This led you to feel so upset and stressed that you resorted to self-harm, correct?" she says.

"Yeah, that pretty much sums it up." I say.

"Ok. Is there anything I missed or anything you'd like to add?" she asks.

"I don't really want to talk about it cause I know I'll cry." I say.

"It's ok, this is a safe space, you can tell me anything, you can cry all that stuff." she says.

"Can I swear?" I ask.

"Yes, that's fine. Just not too much though." she laughs.

"Ok thanks." I take a deep breath, "Well, my Mom died about two months ago. I used to tell her all my problems but I obviously haven't been able to. After she died, I moved here to my siblings and stepmother." I say.

"Can I interrupt you for a second?" she asks. I nod. "What are the names of your siblings and are you guys like close?" she asks.

"There's my older brother Rafe, we're not close really. My twin sister Sarah, we're literally best friends. Then there's my younger sister Wheezie, we're not super close but definitely closer than me and Rafe." I say.

"Ok, go on." she says.

"Well, I didn't know anyone so Sarah introduced me to her friends, John B, Kie, Pope and JJ." I say, "JJ and I got really close after a while and I told him everything. He was my best friend." I say. I feel happy and sad as I remember those days.

"And was JJ anything other than a good friend?" she asks.

"Yeah, he was my boyfriend." I say.

"The boyfriend?" she asks.

"Yeah." I say with a wobble in my chin. "I loved him so much. More than anything. Then he went and kissed Kie when I was gone." I say.

"How did you find out about this?" she asks.

"He almost called me Kie, so I got angry and then asked her. She told me that he kissed her." I say, tears fill my eyes.

"Oh shit, so he kissed one of your good friends?" she says.

"Yeah." I say, tears falling down my cheek.

"And from what I've heard, you haven't really spoken to him?" she asks.

"Not really. I talked to him when I found out which was two weeks ago, and then last week I spoke to him briefly before Topper came over and caught me." I say.

"When did Topper catch you?" she asks, "I just wanna check I'm thinking the correct thing when you tell me this." she says.

"He caught me burning myself." I say.

"Ok. What are your conversations like with JJ?" she asks, "Like, are they friendly or like angry?" she adds.

"Uhm, I kinda hate him right now. He's always begging me to let him explain but I know he's just gonna lie." I say.

"So you haven't heard this story from his perspective?" she asks.

"No. He's told the rest of our friends and they all believe him, but I believe Kie." I say.
