It was all so different to the little girl who only knew of carriages and small two story homes that was apart of her everyday life.
"What is that?" She pointed at the silver vehicle neatly parked beneath a convenient shade casted by a palm tree.
"It's a car." Misery giggled at Evelyn's curiosity.
Evelyn clutched the small black pup tightly from excitement.
"Can we go in it." She jumped.
"I wish I can drive." Misery sighed. "I do know someone who'd be happy to take us though." After pressing her earpiece and waiting for a minute, she spoke. "Hey busy today?... Well me and Evelyn are just going about sight seeing... You wanna come too?... Sure."
Ten minutes had passed and from it came two who had an identical look, except one was a boy and the other a girl.
"Thanks for coming, Alex." Misery turned to Andrew. "I thought you would be busy with another mission."
"I'm not leaving until Samuel gives me something else." Andrew frowned. His unpleasant gaze caught Evelyn. "And why the hell are we babysitting."
A crushing punch into his side from Alex calmed the sass coming from him.
"Don't worry about him." Alex smiled at Evelyn. "He's just shy around people."
Black curly fur had caught Alex attention, in Evelyn's arms was a jet black puppy. Intensity in it's tiny eyes was being perceived as adorable.
"And whose your friend?"
"We found him before coming back." Misery answered. "He got attached to Evelyn really fast."
"Can I pet him?"
"Don't you dare set those filthy hands upon my head."
Was what the little puppy wanted to say, but out of him came growls and barks that made everyone want to caress it.
"Little feisty one too." Alex began petting it. "What's his name?"
"It's Harry." Stated a proud Evelyn.
"How dare you treat me Cerberus like thi..."
His mind quieted as Alex hands slowly stroked his head.
"Whose a good boy." She smiled.
After losing his hell flame, Cerberus had shrunk in size and power. He saw the end of his queen and Brigaden, knowledge that life was going to be short had brought him despair.
He was lying in the rubble awaiting the end, when he was suddenly lifted up.
"You look so cold here." Evelyn tore a piece of her faded blue shirt and covered him. "I'm going to a new place, so I'm taking you with me. There isn't anywhere else we can stay anyway."
It took a short time for the attachment to grow onto the young girl and when it did, Cerberus took her as his new master.
Safety returned to the streets of New Port, all accounts of how fear had taken the people by the bizarre cult like murders were replaced by the peaceful air that had thought to be forgotten.
"What a bizarre vehicle for transportation." Cerberus thought while sticking his head out of the window.
"This is so amazing!" Evelyn smiled.
Andrew looked in the rear view mirror.
"Hey girl." He called out.
"Evelyn." Misery chimed.
