The maze (a newt love story)

Mattress and a greenie

I didn't sleep anymore that night, I couldn't sleep at all. My bruises were tended to and I put a hoodie on to cover them. I stayed away from everyone and everyone stayed away from me. I wasn't up for telling people what to do so I put newt in charge temporarily, he didn't argue. Everyone was helping everyone with different things, some people couldn't handle the killing of the animals, me included.

     I spent most of my time in the tree with a platform at the top, newt came and checked up on me every so often, he brought me food and sometimes just sat with me. Sometimes we talked sometimes we didn't. I decided that I wasn't going to let this control me, I was the boss so I decided what happened, I put a paper into the box and asked for a bed, well a mattress. A couple hours passed and the box came back up, not only with a mattress and some more boxes marked 'Jane', but another kid came up.

      I grabbed some boxes with my name and started to carry it to the attick of the homestead, it was pretty roomy, the roof was slightly slanted but the rest of the room was kinda like a rectangle. I had carried the mattress and rest of the boxes by myself without help to that room. Since newt was still technically in charge temporarily he gave the new kid a tour. I put the mattress in one corner and found some blankets and sheets in one box and put them on the bed. 

   I had found some books and a journal and some pens. I kept these things, along with the boxes with my clothes, against another wall and was happy with how I set it up. I left the room and closed the door and went to find newt and the greenie.
