Our heroes arrive to the town known as the Cross Gate Town.

According to Brock: The Cross Gate Town has a nickname: The CrossRoad Of The Winds

Our heroes saw Swablu holding a ring on its mouth, only for it to pushed away by the wind. In return, Ash calls forth his Taillow to rescue it

Taillow rescued Swablu

Our heroes meet Swablu's Trainer, who reveals his name: Shane. They become good friends

Our heroes learn about the tournament held in the Hoenn Region via the Cross Gate Towm per each year from Shane, which is known as the PokeRinger Competition.

The rules for the PokéRinger Competition are:
It consists with a team of a Trainer and a single Pokemon (as long as its a Flying-Type Pokemon with wings or a non-Flying-Type Pokémon with wings.)

Each team has to first get the ring hanging from a hot-air balloon

The first team to hang on to the ring as well as put it on a hook on the goal post wins

Our heroes are happy to hear the good news from Shane, they also learn from him that today is also the day where this year's Hoenn PokeRinger Competition begins.

May and Ash decide to enter into the Hoenn PokeRinger Competition, because of Beautifly and Taillow

Our heroes learn from Shane that the people entering the Hoenn PokeRinger Competition are its previous years' winners. They also learn that every winner for the Hoenn PokeRinger Competition gets to make into an honorary citizen of Cross Gate Town for life.

Shane reveals that he recently caught his Swablu, thus not yet to be a fully-prepared team despite entering into this year's aforementioned tournament

Regardless.... Shane, Ash and May are still determined to win the Hoenn PokeRinger Competition

Meanwhile Jessie and Meowth are bored about the Hoenn PokeRinger until they learn from James. He went into the Hoenn Region before, because the PokeRinger Competition combines a Trainer and Pokemon to create an artistic and winning battle style due to him training under a renowned Hoenn PokeRinger Master. But as soon as James successfully joins into Team Rocket upon being hired, he finally moved on the harsh training ways of the PokeRinger Competition forever. He even reveals that his training master from the days of the Hoenn PokeRinger Competition to be none other than Crobat Trainers: that old man.

James vows to finally enter into the Hoenn PokeRinger, only for him to off-screen borrow Jessie's Dustox

Shane is in Block A

Ash is in Block B with the last year's Hoenn PokeRinger Competition's winner: Volt. He has a selfish+self-centered ego, much to the unhappy looks of Ash, May and Shane

May and James are in Block C

The Block A begins, then so does the wind. The wind pushes both Pokémon and the ring away

Swablu held on its own, rides on the wind, grabs the rings and puts it on the hook, thus making a successful winning goal in the process!

Volt calls forth his Volbeat as soon as Ash and the nameless 2 Trainers call forth Taillow, Ninjask and Golbat

Volbeat shoots a Thunder towards all of his opponents except for Taillow who by the way dodged away from the blow

As soon as Taillow tries to get the ring, Volbeat zaps it with the Thunder!

Ash tells his Taillow to listen and hang in there to endure and then withstand the blow, it worked!

Both Taillow and Volbeat held on their own on clashing blows on each other! In the end, Taillow safely grabs the ring and puts it away on the hook goal, thus securing a win for Ash in the process!

James indeed teams up with Jessie's Dustox! Dustox safely grabs the ring, gets a riding on the wind, thanks to May's Beautifly unleashing the Gust and then most of all: it even easily puts the ring away on the hook goal! Checkmate for James and Dustox, much to the dismay from May and Beautifly

Meanwhile Jessie and Meowth are doing their fake massage operation

The next round begins, only for to be off-screen over: James, Ash and Shane are in the semi-finals round

Ash wins

James wins in the end, due to his aforementioned harsh training sessions and the notes from the past working well with his favor

The final round finally begins! Meanwhile Jessie and Meowth have safely trapped the Trainers' Flying-Type Pokémon

Ash vs James begins!

Taillow and Dustox trade blows on each other while they're holding on their own, which is proven to be true, thus a challenge for the both of them even if its filled with the strongest winds.

As soon as Taillow heads into the sandy hurricane, Ash believes in his Taillow and its powers, thus causing it to evolve into a Swellow!

Swellow unleashed its new profound powers to quickly turn the tables, thus overcoming the challenges. It even hits the ring with the Wing Attack, only to send it to the hook goal

Ash wins the Hoenn PokeRinger Competition

Jessie, James and Meowth tried to get away, but Swellow and Pikachu defeated these villains, thus rescuing the Trainers' stolen Flying-Type Pokémon

The episode ends well with a happy ending as the journey continues
