*A month after the SandWing war ended, in Thorn's Throne Room*
~Third Person POV~
"WHAT?!"
A voice boomed throughout the room, breaking the nerve-wrecking silence, and bounced off the walls. The loud roar caused the informer to shudder as he felt the new SandWing Queen's terrifying stare on him. She gazed at him with her pitch-black eyes, swirling with what one could only assume to be shock. A million thoughts were racing through the newly crowned SandWing as she tried to digest the information that had been thrown at her.
"Y-yes Your H-highness, i-it is heard that y-your older s-sister had a d-dragonet who l-lives around an o-oasis near the S-scorpion Den," the informer stuttered. His eyes were wandering around the room trying his very hardest to avoid the Queen's eyes. It was obvious to everyone present that he was nervous in the presence of someone who held the power to throw him in prison to rot.
It had only been a month since the reign of Burn had ended, and it was hard for the SandWings to adjust to the new queen. Even if she had been nothing but kind and tried her best to improve the kingdom.
"Everyone get out of the room," Smoulder ordered seeing that Thorn needed time to process what was happening. It wasn't obvious, but over the month he had started to know Thorn more and he could almost see the thoughts running through her head. Slowly everyone in the room except Qibli left.
They were all shocked to learn that their Queen had a sister and possibly another heir to the throne. Qibli was a bit sad that Thorn hadn't told him about her sister but seeing her condition it was clear that her sister was a sore topic.
Smoulder sighed and ignored Qibli. He knew that the loyal five-year-old wasn't going to leave considering he still didn't trust the SandWing prince.
Smoulder walked towards Thorn and placed a wing around her shoulders, trying to give some comfort. In the last month, Smoulder had to admit that he started to catch some feelings for the fierce female SandWing.
"I can't believe that my sister had a dragonet with someone while I thought she was dead. I need to find her dragonet; she's living on her own when she's only four! Qibli, get Six-claws and a few more outclaws and bring her here," Thorn turned to face Qibli at the last sentence. Her obsidian black eyes shining with a happiness that Smoulder and Qibli had never seen before.
"Yes Th- Your Highness," the pale SandWing corrected himself. He was still getting used to calling Thorn by her tittles. He turned around and dashed out of the room eager to find the dragon who made the Queen so happy.
When Qibli left Smoulder turned to Thorn. His face held no emotion, but his eyes were filled with barely hidden worry.
Thorn sighed and dropped her head in her claws and slightly leaned into Smoulder. She didn't entirely trust him, but she knew that he wouldn't harm her or judge her.
"I still can't believe that I have a niece. Oh Moons! I am an AUNT! Sunny would love having a cousin. I hope they get along. It would be really weird to have them not liking each other."
While Thorn was having a mini panic attack, our lovely protagonist was turning the whole cottage upside-down, looking for her book which was lying peacefully on the dinner table.
