"Poison!"

A cheerful and brash voice coming out of nowhere startled Poison. The scroll in her hand plundered to the stone floor. She spun around, her tail in the air, her barb ready to sting whoever it was. She let out a small sigh, dropping her stance when she found out that the culprit was none other than Kinkajou.

"Goodness Kinkajou! What do you want?"

"Didn't you hear the three gongs?" Kinkajou chirped, as smiley and vibrant as always.

Not even giving Poison a chance to respond to her, Kinkajou looped her tail with the SandWing's, pulling her along with her. Which then gave Tulip, the little scavenger who had tagged along with the eccentric RainWing, a chance to climb onto Poison and snuggle into her warm scales.

"Hi, Starflight! I'm super excited," Kinkajou said. "I don't know anything about history. I have a million questions for Webs. Like, what's the Scorching, and is it true there used to be scavengers everywhere, and who started the Talons of Peace, and what's the big IceWing tragedy from the past, and —"

A scream of terror suddenly echoed through the tunnels.

"Help!" somebody shrieked. More screams and the clamour of running dragons joined the tumult. "The SkyWing! She's here to kill us all!"

"SkyWing..?" Poison muttered to herself. Her eyes widened when she realised that there was only one dragon from the Sky Kingdom that could cause this much chaos.

She unravelled her tail from Kinkajou and rushed out of the library, towards the entrance where the screams were coming from.

Not paying attention to anyone other than the blazing dragon present, a smile, filled with pure and innocent joy leaped onto Poison's face.

"Peril..." Poison gasped out.

Without wasting another moment, she ran over to the glowing torchlight. She leaped into Peril's arms, squeezing the life out of her.

Now, most dragons would have burned to ashes if they touched Peril, but for Poison and Tulip, that was not the case. The first time Poison accidentally bumped into her, both dragons had let out strings of screams and curses. Poison honestly thought she was dead, but after two whole minutes of pointless screaming, when she finally realised that she wasn't burning in not the slightest, she almost fainted.

Turned out that the golden and magical flower that grew in Poison's oasis allowed her to be immune to Peril's scales. They only came to that conclusion because Poison fed a small piece of the mysterious plant to pig, who didn't turn to ash when Peril touched it, unlike the other pig who didn't eat the flower.

And after some tests, Poison also found out that her scales are also resistant to fire in general. Like if she touches normal fire, she will of course feel the pain, but she wouldn't be burnt physically.

"PERIL!" Tulip screamed, scrambling out of Poison's shoulder and clinging onto Peril's neck.

"Poison! Tulip! Hi! I missed you both! How are you both?" The SkyWing asked, looking at Poison, a huge grin bloomed on her face.

Before Poison could answer Clay, Sunny and Tsunami ran towards them. Tsunami pulled Poison away from Peril, checking her all over. Clay on the other hand either didn't care, or didn't notice and trapped the SkyWing in a hug.

"How are you not burned?!" Sunny demanded, her eyes filled with worry and fear as she looked straight into Poison's.

Poison let out a sigh, having expected this. She pulled her cousin aside, ignoring the concerned look from Peril and started explaining the whole concept to her. But instead of telling her about the flower, she switched it out with a random liquid her father had found, which accidentally spilled onto her and Tulip, allowing them to be immune to Peril's scales.
