(Chapters 32 - 39)

(Warnings: Angst, Mental illness, PTSD, Trauma healing)

{Important Note: READ BEFORE YOU READ THE ARC

This arc includes trauma healing. The effects of trauma are not linear and the healing of trauma can be very very messy. I do not aim to make it look pretty or romanticized in any of my stories. I make it as realistic as possible. So there will be no, "oh my god, they healed her with their love and affection." Ok. That's just not how it works. So here's the gist:

Impulsive decisions, reckless self-endangerment, flashbacks, dissociation, after effects of brain hypoxia which is explained in a previous chapter, nightmares, triggers, mood swings, depression.

And this is all from Violet. This doesn't even really go into the trauma that Lucy, George and Lockwood are facing. Because, yes, all of them were traumatized by Dead Lake.

Obviously there will be parts that may seem unrealistic. But overall, I strive to be as genuine as possible.

So I do not want to hear anyone saying that one of them is so selfish for doing this or that. Or oh my god they're being so dramatic. Blah blah. This is trauma, darling. This is PTSD. It's not pretty. Mental illness is not pretty or aesthetic or romantic or anything. It's fucked up. It's hard. It's messy. And it can look exactly like how I describe it in my stories.

I'm only saying this because I have seen people in other author's books comment things like this when a character shows effects from traumatic events or mental illnesses. So i'm saying it now. I will give you one warning if you do it. After that you will be blocked. Sorry not sorry.}
