Chapter Six

Today every classroom had a different activity that the teacher decided on. You could go to any activity you fancied and get prizes in each. Mr. Nelson, who taught Physics, was playing Kahoot. It was a game on the computer where you can use your own name or a nickname. There are two to four answers per question and at the end of each question it shows you how many answered what question. This game had one hundred thirty questions and was a review of all they had learned that year. The first person to get ten right got a prize of tickets to Disney world. Those who got twenty right got to choose twenty books of their own choosing. Then those who got thirty right got a free Ipad for each member of the family, except for babies and those ages two-four. Bria got the tickets to disney World, a boy named James got the books and who should get the Ipad!? But Taylor!

"You can pick up your prizes at the end of class. Congratulations everyone." Mr. Nelson said. They continued playing until the bell rang, many didn't want it to end because it was so much fun. Regardless of those who had gotten prizes, everyone got a certificate of completion and a gift card to Texas Roadhouse. Taylor picked out her three Ipads and hugged Mr. Nelson goodbye and walked out with Bria. They stopped at their lockers quickly before heading to Ms. Beechums' class. Ms. Beechum was playing Find My Answer. She had written many different math problems and hidden the answer around the room. They had to solve the problem first and then look around the room for their answer. Ms. Beechum had a lightning round where you had to stop looking for yours and quickly solve a problem she showed you on the board, if you got it first, she gave you a clue as to where to find your answer. By the time the bell rang, Taylor had found five of her answers and Bria had found twenty answers, she was very good at math and tutored Taylor throughout the whole year. At the end of class, everyone got certificates and little trophies with two chocolate kisses in them. They were allowed to pick one more class then it was time for a special lunch.

"Hey taylor?"

"Yes Ms. Beechum?"

"I want to give you my number. Just in case you need something." She said with a smile

"Thank you." Taylor said, giving her a hug. Then she and Bria decided to go to the first gym and play volleyball, something they both enjoyed very much. For today, no one had to change into their gym clothes. It was an odd sight to see boys in suits or dress shirts and slacks, girls in short, long and ball gown type dresses, running after the ball to hit it over. But the music was pumping and everyone was having fun laughing uncontrollably. Bria had put in her cochlear so that she could hear everyone talking and be able to hit the ball when it was her turn. After four rounds, the girls took a break and sat on the stage to talk

"This ss fun, isn't Tay?" Bria asked in her halting breathless voice

"Yes it is fun." She said with a wide smile. "Do you know when you are leaving for StarAcademy?"

"I am leaving the day after your birthday."

"That soon?" Taylor asked in disbelief

"Yeah." She pulled on her hair. Taylor touched her arm

"It will be alright. I promise. You can always call me whenever and I'll be there."

"But you will be in Wisconsin, I will be in New York."

"So? I'll make the flight."

"I am so lucky to have you Tay." Bria said as she wiped a tear away. Remembrance of what Stone had said that morning rang through her head. Taylor gripped Bria's arm gently

"No. I'm lucky to have you." The bell rang and students trampled out as janitors came in to set up for the rally after lunch. The rally was to acknowledge the graduates and have the basketball game between staff and then students. Bria and Taylor left and headed for the lunch room to pick up their yearbooks while they waited for the food to be set up outside. Principal Greg and the Assistant Principal, Mike, stepped up to the front of the lunch room
