A Melody That Was Shining With Fake Dreams

Part 3 "Daniel's Birthday"

13th September,

Amelia hadn't told her friends about Daniel yet. It was Daniel's birthday that day. Amelia asked Daniel before so she knew about it.

It was still early in the morning and Amelia was getting ready for school. She already prepared what to give to Daniel. She also decided to tell her friends about him today.

At school,

When they had a short break before another class started, Amelia told her friends about Daniel.

She didn't tell them that she likes him, she just told them that it was his birthday that day and she was going to give him a gift.

So she told them to join her at the back of the school. Her friends agreed.

Later in class,

"Hey," a whisper came from the right side of Amelia, she looked at the person sitting there right away.

It was her best friend, Eva.

"What?" Amelia asked her in a low tone to not disturb the class.

"You have been going to the back of the school these days? That's why I don't see you at lunchtime. You know how many times did I try to find you?" Eva asked being a little angry and disappointed.

"I'm sorry about that, It won't happen next time," Amelia apologized.

"You didn't even tell me about that boy."

"Sorry...."

"Amelia, you keep breaking our promise. We promised each other to share everything. I'm disappointed."

Amelia kept silent. She didn't know what to say. She was trying to figure out how to make up with her best friend.

"Hey, you two! Stop talking. If you talk one more time, I'll kick you out of the class."

"Sorry, ma'am." Both of the girls apologized.

Later at lunchtime,

"Girls, let's go now," Amelia said hurrying while taking the gift she prepared for Daniel.

"Yeah,"

"Les go~,"

"Eva, are you not going?" Asked Julie.

"No, just go without me," Eva said, being still angry over her best friend breaking their promise again.

"Eva, look, I'm extremely sorry and this won't ever happen again. I just wasn't prepared to introduce you guys to Daniel because I just met him a few days ago, and I..." Amelia stopped her words.

"You what? I need words, Amelia." Said Eva.

"I kind of...like him,"

"What?!" Four of her friends were surprised because Amelia never had a crush on anyone. Not even a celebrity.

"My goodness! Our anti-romantic girl finally likes someone!" Said Irene excitedly.

"I guess the boy must be so handsome!" Said, Natasha.

Amelia was blushing, however, she didn't let the others notice that.

"I'll consider it this time, Amelia. But if you keep doing this, I'm afraid we'll lose each other." Said Eva finally calming down.

"Thank you for understanding. Let's go now or we'll be late." Said Amelia and walked towards the door while the others followed her.

When they reached the place, Daniel was not there yet.

So, they sat down on the grass and waited for him, while Amelia held the gift in her hands.

After 5 to 6 minutes, a figure was slowly appearing in front of their eyes.

"I'm sorry, I'm late!" The boy shouted from afar.

"Wow, he is handsome," said Julie.

"Hey hey," Amelia spoke in a hurry.

"What?" Asked Natasha.

"Let's sing the birthday song!" Said Amelia.

"Okay, 3, 2, 1"

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you,"

Daniel laughed and finally reached them. He got a little bit shy and embarrassed.

"Woah, this feels embarrassing," said the boy in front of the four girls who were singing happily.

The boy covered his eyes with one of his hands.

"Happy birthday dear Daniel,"

The three girls stopped singing when Eva gestured to them. They let Amelia sing the last line.

"Happy birthday to you," sang Amelia finishing the song. The girls clapped their hands.

"Whooo!"

"Here, this is for you," saying this, Amelia reached her hands out to Daniel so that he could take the gift.

"Wow, a gift? Gosh, thank you so much,"

The boy took the box in his hands and opened the box to see what was inside.

It was AirPods and a book.

"You love reading books right? So, I got you a book and AirPods so that nothing interferes with you when you are reading," said Amelia with a grin.

"That's so mindful of you, I love the gift, thanks,"

"You're welcome,"

"Guys, are we the third wheel here?? Let's sit and play something or just talk, come on," said Natasha.

The others did as they were suggested.

"How about I call my friends too? Our friend group consists of 5,"

"Sure, it'll be more fun,"

Soon friends of Daniel came after he called them.

"Guys! Hurry up!" Shouted Daniel to catch the attention of 4 boys who were walking towards them. He told them to hurry up because the bell may ring anytime soon.

"Hi,"

"Hello,"

"Hey,"

They greeted each other and sat down beside their friend, Daniel.

Daniel introduced his friends (Steve, Terry, Kai, and Ben) to the girls, and Amelia introduced her friends to the boys.

They gossiped and had a great time together.

But did Amelia have any idea what could happen next?
