"Amelia, go to bed already," ordered her mom.

"Okay, Mom,"

"By the way, when will you get yourself a boyfriend?" She asked to trick Amelia into telling her about Daniel. She was close enough to Amelia to ask this kind of thing.

"Oh, Mom! I am dating a boy named Daniel, forgot to tell yah," replied Amelia.

"Since when?"

"26th October,"

"Oh I see, tell him to come over sometime. I would like to meet him."

"Okay!"

2nd November,

"Come closer."

"What, you want me to fall to my death?" Retorted the girl, a shadow of a scowl on her face. This earned her an amused chuckle and a knowing look in return. Amelia had learned to decipher what that look meant over time.

Begrudgingly, Amelia came closer to Daniel, sitting on the edge of the school rooftop next to Daniel.

They were about sixty feet off the ground, sitting on the edge of that rooftop. Amelia could see that tree beneath them, where they'd go every single day. Everywhere she turned, she and Daniel were shrouded—concealed and hidden from the rest of the school, and therefore, the world.

Just the two of us. Like our own private world.

The thought made the girl bite his lips just to refrain from smiling. However, the boy, much to his dismay, had always been quick to catch onto her—never a moment for her to win the chase. Sometimes, Amelia wondered if she was truly that easy to read.

An arm comfortably snaked itself around her waist, pulling her securely flush against Daniel's side.

"What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing you need to know." She said, looking away. This time, Amelia was desperate for Daniel to let go of the conversation. She'd rather talk about their school lives, friends, the weather, the day—anything. How could she possibly tell him to his face that just now she'd thought of kissing him?

Instead, what she was rewarded with was a low snicker and a peck to her forehead. "You realize that it's written on your face whenever you have a thought and it's about me, right?''

A weak punch was thrown at his chest. "Shut up, you just like to tease me!" said Amelia.

Then, Daniel did his annoying eyebrow raise and sly smirk, emitting a 'hm?' as he pressed their foreheads together. Amelia could only let out a defeated whimper before the boy planted a chaste kiss on her lips. "Anyway, what are you planning to do this weekend? maybe we could go on our first date,"

At the mention, Amelia's entire body slouched in excitement.

"I'm looking forward to it!" she exclaimed with joy, lips curling into a smile as she rested her head on the other's shoulder; to which Daniel responded by resting his head on top of hers. The action felt so natural, neither of them questioned it.

"Where are we going?" said Amelia.

"Hm, anywhere you want to?" He plastered a smile on her face, a display of his pleasure that Amelia only interpreted as immensely endearing. "You know what? As long as I have you, I don't need anybody else."

"Amelia, that's not how the world works." Daniel laughed, ruffling her hair. "You can't be with me for the rest of your life."

And this made Amelia sit up, pulling away from their snuggly position. She stared at Daniel straight on, and the hardened look in her eyes slightly took Daniel back.
