"Boss!" I met Gibbs coming out of the murder scene, following Palmer and Duckie who were taking the body away.
"Yes?"
"The Sigtons were witness to Zevas first case here. They were critiqued for giving a statement by a co-worker, there's only bits and pieces here," I flicked through torn up papers.
"Which of the Sigtons?" he asked as we all gathered around the bull pen.
"The three dead all gave statements." I said.
"What prompted you to discover such a thing Dinozzo?" Gibbs asked, eyeing me up, like he knew the answer already.
I sighed
"We need to talk to Zeva," his phone went, always at impromptu moments.
Not as before In the hospital, the boss looked directly at me all the time on the phone - making me very uneasy.
"Mhmm, yep," he took some soothing breathes "CCTV .. out. great. Will do." he slammed the phone shut.
"Something else happened boss?" McGee asked as we all began to pick up our gear.
Gibbs still stared at me and said calmly as though trying not to scare me, "There's been a raid at the hospital, CCTV cameras are out, several members of staff unconsious and-"
I knew what he was going to say. well not exactly. But it was one of two things;
- she had been killed.
Or
- she was missing.
"How? How does her training not..." I began as we all marched our way back to the cars.
"I don't think even Mossad training covers you for kidnapping by causing you to pass out with gas." Gibbs said driving away.
"At least we know what we are dealing with here." McGee said as we arrived back at the hospital.
"Yes," I pulled my gas mask on quickly and walked/ jogged towards the entrance "a chemistry killer."
I could hear Gibbs shouting for me to stop, I didn't listen, which meant I was going to be yelled at later. I didn't care. I just ran, gun first into Zevas room, passing doctors and nurses who were injured. I didn't find her there. And I found no blood.
Helpfully Abby interjected right at that moment "doesn't mean she's not dead, we found not blood at HQ and yet-" I looked down at her "sorry shouldn't have said ...forget it. You can take your gas mask off."
"You think?" I sighed, put my gun away, took my mask off and rang Zeva on my phone. Hopelessly I got no reply.
"McGee you can find her if her phones switched on right?" I said forcefully as he set up things on the desk outside, it was more of a command than a question.
"Yes, if the battery's not disconnected"
I looked at him And he returned to his computer things "tracking her now boss."
"Dinozzo!" Gibbs yelled, beckoning me back into Zevas room. "do you need to go home?" he asked harshly, like I was some sort of kid
"No b-"
"This is why co - workers don't date. You can't focus." he informed me
"Excuse me sir, but we're all missing a top agent not just a girl I love." I shot back.
"Got her! She's on the move," mcGee called through.
Gibbs was on the phone quickly, talking about road blocks and favours. I took this to mean that we were leaving again.
"Abby finish up here then go back to the lab." I said as Gibbs nodded.
"Ok." she got to work, brushing over every finger print.
The three of us left swiftly, jumping into the car and driving off at speed.
"She will be fine Tony." McGee said, smiling slightly.
"We need to find her."
