Third Person POV

Permeation. It's a quirk that took Mirio years of hard work and dedication to master. It was a quirk that made him intangible, meaning he could pass through nearly anything.

When Hatsume first locked herself out of the "safe" room, she spent what felt like ages trying to get it open. Unfortunately, she did such a good job at creating something impenetrable, that she ended up stumping herself.

It was like fate when Mirio walked into the support room, needing clothes designed to work with his quirk. His body may be able to go through anything, but his clothes...not so much. So he went to see if support could make him some, rather than leaving him in his birthday suit. Yes, his costume did that, but there were surely times when he didn't have a chance to change out of his street clothes. The last thing he wanted was for the public to see him in all his glory.

Hatsume beamed, "I'll get started on designing something right away, but first, can you try something for me?"

Midoriya's lifeless body lay across the floor, trapped behind unbreakable glass. Screams from Bakugo and Todoroki echoed throughout the otherwise silent room.

"We'll get him out of there," Mirio said, taking the lead.

"Wait!" Hatsume yelled out. "The fumes look to be dying out, too, but you still need to be careful. Do not breathe it in! As soon as you get him out, shut the door to keep the rest of the fumes in. You remember the code?"

"I've got this," Mirio said before using his quirk to permeate through the floor and up into the room Midoriya had trapped himself in. Unfortunately, Hatsume hadn't designed permeable pajamas. Holding his breath, Mirio carefully slung Midoriya onto his back and used the code 7714 on the keypad.

There was a moment that seemed to last a lifetime, as they all waited for the system to process the information and the door to finally open.

Katsuki knocked tools and supplies that had been strewn all over a table to the ground, to clear a spot for Midoriya to be set down on.

"There's no pulse!"

"Fuck! No, baby. Please wake up for me." Hearing Katsuki plead like he never had before made this all the more horrifying. Todoroki finally broke. He slid to the floor and curled in on himself, covering his ears and sobbing uncontrollably.

As Katsuki started to perform CPR, Aizawa came rushing in with nearly the rest of the class in tow. When Todoroki sent out the mass text asking for help, he didn't expect so many to show up. Then again, the class was like a family in many ways, so it shouldn't have been such a shock after all.

"How long?" Aizawa asked Hatsume frantically. "How long has he been like this?!"

"At least three minutes. We got him out as soon as we could. He inhaled tons of biochemical fumes, which probably sent him into cardiac arrest and burned the lining of his esophagus, which would explain the blood but–."

"Dammit!" He paused for a second to think, looking over at his devastated students piling into the doorway. "Is Kaminari here?! And Ida?!"

"Yes, sir?" Ida stepped in front of the class, wiping away a stray tear.

"Go wake Recovery Girl, fill her in, and bring her here as fast as possible. If this doesn't work, I don't know what we'll do." Aizawa said.

"Yes, sir!" And Ida was off, running faster than ever before.

Denki Kaminari stepped in front of the class next, not sure what he could do to help, but was willing to do anything in his power to save his friend.

"You know what a defibrillator is, right?"

It was like a light bulb went off in Denki's head. He didn't even respond as he ran over to Midoriya. "Bakugo back up!" He commanded completely out of character, but Bakugo refused to stop compressions. He refused to leave Midoriya's life in someone else's hands.

"Back off bastard! This is gonna work. I'm gonna...bring him back! Izuku...Dammit! Come back to me!"

Todoroki knew he couldn't just sit there any longer. He needed to move...to help. With everything left in him, he picked himself up off the floor and wrapped his arms around Bakugo from behind. At first, Bakugo tried to fight back until he realized it was Todoroki.

"Deki's our best chance at getting him back," Todoroki calmly whispered into his ear. The compressions had been keeping up with, slowed to a stop as the tears picked up.

"Bring him back to me or I'll murder you," Bakugo muttered to Deki, who just nods his head in understanding.

Once the area was clear, Denki charged up his electric quirk, placing the palms of his hands on Midoriya's chest. The shock that jolted through Midoriya's body was enough to make everyone in the room jump.

The room was silent, except for the sound of Denki's electricity coursing through Midoriya's body. It was a risky move, but it was their last hope. Bakugo and Todoroki watched with bated breath as Recovery Girl rushed in, pushing her way through the crowd of students to get to Midoriya's side. She assessed the situation quickly before nodding to Denki to continue.

The shock seemed to jolt Midoriya's body, and for a moment, they thought it might have worked. But then, there was nothing. No movement...no breathing...no sign of life. Bakugo let out a primal scream of frustration and grief as Todoroki held him tight.

Recovery Girl didn't give up, though. She continued to work on Midoriya, administering injections and performing chest compressions, between charges of electricity from Denki. The room fell into a hushed silence as they watched Recovery Girl work her magic.

Time seemed to stretch on forever, but finally, after what felt like an eternity, "We've got a heartbeat!"

The relief that washed over the room was palpable. Bakugo collapsed to his knees, tears streaming down his face. Todoroki sank down beside him, holding him close. The rest of the class let out a collective sigh of relief, their bodies sagging with exhaustion and emotion.
