Third Person POV

After being whisked away to the infirmary, Midoriya was stabilized and taken to the hospital for further treatment. Bakugo and Todoroki couldn't bear to leave Midoriya's side and stayed with him at the hospital night and day. They felt guilty for not realizing sooner that Midoriya was going to try something like he had and were determined to protect him moving forward. The pair spent countless hours by Midoriya's bedside, holding his hand, and talking to him as if he could hear them.

Finally after weeks in a coma, Midoriya's eyes slowly fluttered open. He was nearly blinded by the bright lights of the hospital room, but quickly became acclimated. Looking to either side of him, Midoriya saw a boyfriend snuggled up next to him on the hospital bed.

His throat was sore, and his chest felt heavy, but he was alive. He tried to sit up without waking either boy, but was stopped by Recovery Girl's hand on his shoulder.

"Easy there, kid," she said. "You've been through quite the ordeal."

He remembered the fumes and the glass room and the fear that he would never see his lovers again, but it was all still very fuzzy. He didn't have a clear picture in his head. He couldn't remember why...

"What happened?" he asked, his voice hoarse. "You were exposed to some biochemical fumes and suffered a cardiac arrest," she explained in a hushed voice so as not to wake the napping duo. "You've also done a number to your lungs and the lining of your esophagus. Thanks to the quick thinking of your classmates and the support team, we were able to revive you."

Midoriya nodded slowly, still trying to process everything. "Thank you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. He still wanted to know more. Why did it happen? Why was he in that room to begin with?

It was too difficult to think of little things, much less about the incident, with the splitting headache and pain in his chest. He came to the conclusion that he just needed to rest and all would come to light soon enough. Nuzzling up to his boyfriends, Midoriya let himself drift back to sleep.

"Izuku, can you hear me?" Todoroki asked, his voice shaking.

Midoriya's eyes slowly opened once more, and he groaned in pain. Bakugo helped him sit up, while Todoroki hugged him tightly.

"Holy shit, you scared us," Bakugo whispered, moving aside his green curls to kiss Midoriya's forehead.

Midoriya looked around the room, confused. "I guess I fell back asleep?"

"Yeah, Recovery Girl had told us not to wake you but fuck that!" Bakugo said.

The memories began flooding back all at once. The love the three shared, the pain he endured, the...

Midoriya's eyes widened in shock, finally recalling the reason. "Is it gone? Did it work?"

Bakugo took a deep breath, "Yea, it's gone...but I'm still pissed at you for doing that! Do you understand what you put us through? We thought we lost you!"

"Yeah, but you didn't so there's always that," Izuku tried to joke through harsh coughs.

Todoroki handed him some water, half tempted to pour it on him for being so flippant about the whole ordeal. "Izuku, you died. It took Denki and Recovery Girl so long to bring you back. It might have been minutes but to us, it was a lifetime...a lifetime of agony watching you lay there."

Midoriya looked down at his lap.

"You're fucking lucky to be alive," Bakugo spat.

"I'm sorry," Izuku mumbled.
