Grocery Shopping Incident

It's been a couple of months since we got married and words can't describe how much I love Scarlett. My phone began to ring. I checked the ID and it was my mum.

"Hey mum"

"hey sweetie... we are coming over today if that's all right"

"yeah of course mum...my house is your house...is Andrew coming to?"

"Yeah"

"okay see you tonight then mum, bye love you"

okay son... love you too"

Scarlett

I was say down on the dining table preparing a shopping list. We haven't done a big shop for a month.

"Hey Baby" I hear Ryder say

I looked up and he was stood there shirtless. even after being with him for months I haven't got used to him being shirtless around me

"Hey good looking" I said staring at his body

"still think I'm photo shopped" Ryder teased

"yeah" I said forcing myself to continue with the list

"umm...Scar...mum, dad and Andrew are coming over today"

"WHAT?" she screamed.

She got up of her seat and began to clean up. She was literally climbing the walls to reach the top of the fridge. Whenever we had guest Scarlett will clean like mad. I decided to help her by going to the grocery store. I went upstairs to put on a shirt, grabbed my keys and the list and started to drive to the closest store.

I was walking up and down the aisles trying to find lettuce. There wasn't one in sight. Ugh now what am I supposed to tell Scar she said she desperately needed it. I took one more glance to see if it was there and noticed a little boy just sitting on the floor playing with one. I walked towards him.

"Hey little boy where's your mum?" I asked

"she's gone to missing"

"oh... well if I help you find her will you give me the lettuce"

"umm....No" he said

"why?"

"Because that's blackmailing"

"look Kid...I really need to get that lettuce and you have the last one... I bet you don't like vegetables"

"I bet you don't like vegetables" he repeated after me

"yeah...well...she sells seashells on the seashore"

the little boy began to cry

"oh my god I'm so sorry"

"ha ha I tricked you" the little boy said

"little boy I just want the lettuce"

"yea well you're not getting it"

Not this again I thought. My phone began to ring. It was Scarlett

"hey Scar"

"hey Ryder... please can you get some drinks...I forgot to add it on the list"

"okay babe...bye love you"

"love you too Ry"

I hung up the phone and looked straight at the little devil. What kid doesn't give lettuce?

"Is she your girlfriend?"

"No she is my wife"

"are you scared of her?" he asked

"No...look I know what you're doing and stop it...I just want the lettuce"

"well.... you're not getting it"

"where's your mum...I'm pretty sure she has some"

"I told you...I don't know...And I am keeping the lettuce"

"please little boy what do I have to do for you to give me the stupid lettuce"

"Ummm....you have to buy me a chocolate"

I am being blackmailed by a 6 year old. Who would have thought me...Ryder Daniels would be fighting for lettuce.

"Fine...I'll buy you a stupid chocolate"

I went to the checkout and bought the boy a chocolate.

"here you go kid" I said handing him the chocolate

"I don't like that one so you aren't allowed the lettuce"

"ugh...okay what chocolate do you like?"

"that one" he said pointing at the galaxy

okay...I'll get you that one..."

I went to go buy the galaxy chocolate when my phone started to buzz. Scarlett texted me.

Hey Ryder...what's taking so long? Our parents are nearly here

Sorry Scar... I couldn't find some of the things on the list...don't worry though I'm in the check out queue...I'll be home in about 10 minutes

"okay here is your stupid chocolate....now can you give me the lettuce"

"okay here" he said handing it to me

I went to pay for the stuff and quickly get home. I opened the front door and the whole house smelled like bleach.

"Scar...you need a break...I'll cook the dinner"

"thank you so much Ryder" she said collapsing her whole body on the sofa.

I went to the kitchen, got her a glass of water and began to put the stuff away.

"what do you want to eat today Scar"

"umm...make spaghetti"

"okay"

A few hours later mum, dad and Andrew went home and I and Scarlett just went upstairs to go to bed. It's been a long day today and we have School the next day.
