I peeled the top sticky note off the rest and grabbed a pen that Mrs. Hanja had in a little clay mug on top of her desk. I sat in the chair with one of my legs crossed over the other. The pen ink was a pretty burgundy color. My head was resting in one of my hands as the other was used to scribble onto the small squared sheet of paper.

I was never creative enough to actually have stuff to draw so I would always draw the basic things. For example, flowers, hearts, and my favorite, stars. I drew a series of different kinds, some were only drawn lightly. Others were colored in, and some had patterns inside.

I huffed, getting bored with the activity within a couple of minutes. I looked around at my surroundings that were full of quietness and focus. I crumpled up the piece of paper now covered in a mess of drawings. I tried throwing it into the trash can from where I was but my lack of aim prevented that. It fell to the ground and I picked it up trying once more and this time I had more luck.

I walked to Mrs. Hanjas office that was right next to the front desk of the library. I peeked my head inside and saw her with her tiny oval framed glasses on and a book in her hands. I sat myself down in the chair across from her, "What are you reading?" I asked, looking at the pictures that she had of her grandchildren and family in frames.

"Just some book," she closed it slightly to get a better look at the title. After telling me the name she began to explain the plot to me. Going on about two people from opposite ends of the world who found interest in each other but supposedly they cant end up with each other by the end of the book. Even though they had grown to love each other more and more, yet for some reason they couldn't stand to be around the other.

"I haven't finished it yet but thats just what the synopsis said." She spoke.

The book sounded a little harsh. How could you love someone yet hate to be around them? It didn't really make any sense to me.

"Hm, sounds interesting."

"Yeah, I was taking my daily walk around my neighborhood and in front of one of the houses was a bin with a sign that said 'Take a free book!'." She smiled saying how it was very kind of them to do such a thing.

"I'll lend it to you after i'm done reading it." She offered.

"I'd love that!" I thanked her and walked back to the front desk. I didn't want to keep her from enjoying the book.

--------------------

A few days passed and when I went to the library to work Mrs. Hanja had finished the book already. She told me that it was amazing, I was excited to start reading it once I got home.

Thankfully this week I didn't really have much school work to do, for once. I poured chocolate covered pretzels into a bowl that I grabbed from one of the cabinets in the kitchen. I changed into something more comfortable, glad to be out of my school clothes.

I closed my door so that my family can get the hint that I don't want to be disturbed. I grabbed my headphones so I could listen to music as I read. Though I waited to choose the songs since I didnt know what kind of mood the book was going to bring. So I just decided to choose once I was deeper into the story.

I wrapped myself into the sheets of my bed, feeling content with my current position. I was already around thirty pages into the book and I became more and more immersed. I felt like this was getting me out of my reading slump. I haven't really read in a while, I have piles of books that I haven't touched. It's either I read nonstop or I don't read for months.

The book i'm currently reading is short enough to get me out of this bad habit, but long enough that it's enjoyable.

Jiwoo and Jaehyun came into my room a couple of times just to bug me. They would just sit on my bed and watch me read, which creeped me out just a little bit. I asked what they were doing but they would just giggle to themselves. I gave up on asking and just let them stay as long as they weren't being loud.
