SUNJAI SAT by her dad's bed, her phone pointing at him as she recorded the both of them. "What's this funky ass filter on?" He muttered.

"Ain't no filter on, that's just you." She rolled her eyes as she started the video, "Smile fa' my story pa." She zoomed in on his mugged up face.

"Ion want to." He mushed her head away causing Sunjai chuckle lightly. "Whatchu been up to?"

"Work, my clothing line been doing good by the way." She down on the couch, crisscrossing her legs. "So I'm happy bout' that. Did they say when you were able to get outta here?"

Sunjai changed the subject just as she remembered the doctor said her dad was getting better but she was still confused of why he was still laying in the hospital bed if that was the case. Mir glanced at before shrugging, "Ion know."

"Ima ask before I leave here today." She hummed, saving the video she took before sighing heavily.

"You should just let them tell you, Sunjai. Don't keep bothering them wit' that same question." Mir glanced down at his tatted hands before looking back at his daughter who was staring at him intensely, her eyes squinted.

Sunjai always knew when somebody was lying to her but she didn't wanna question her dad since he wasn't in the right mind space, literally. "They're doctors, I'm supposed to ask them questions."

"They'll tell you when I'm ready to be release from here, chill out." He chuckled sitting up a little.

"I guess." She sucked on her tongue as the room went silent. Sunjai pulled her knees to her chest as she watch her dad focus his attention to the tv, trying his best to stay awake. He haven't been as talkative today, it was weird for her-the last time she saw Mir this quiet or giving out short sentences is when he found out he was sick. "You sure you straight, pops?" She looked at him worryingly.

"Mhm, just one of those days where I'm feeling pain everywhere." He nodded at her. "I'm good, babygirl." Mir gave her a small smile.

"Okay."
