"He has the-" Hook began, but got cut off when Pan used his magic to freeze them

"Curse?" Pan finished for him, holding up the scroll "That I do. Look at you all. A captive audience. I could play with you like a pack of dolls, couldn't I? I think I'll start with these two" he said, walking over to Belle and Neal "Hmm. You both look so adorable. Hard to tell who to kill first. No, it isn't. You. You first" he said, pointing to Neal

But before he could do anything, Gold grabbed his shoulder, the cuff still on his arm after Pan had put it there earlier

"Stay away from them" he told his father, pulling him away from Belle and Neal

"How about this? The worm has teeth" Pan mocked him "You're here to protect your loved ones"

"I'm not going to let you touch either one of them" Gold replied

"Oh, I'd like to see that" Pan said

"Oh, you will" Gold promised his father "Because I have a job to finish, and I have to do whatever it takes. No loopholes. And what needs to be done has a price. A price I'm finally willing to pay" he said, turning towards Neal "I used the curse to find you, Bae, to tell you I made a mistake. To make sure you had a chance at happiness. And that happiness is possible. Just not with me. I accept that"

"Pretty, pretty words"

"I love you, Bae" Gold continued, ignoring Pan's laugh. He then turned to Belle "And I love you, Belle, you made me stronger"

"Stronger?" Pan said

"Yes"

"But still no magic" Pan reminded him

"Oh, but I don't need it" it was Gold's turn to mock Pan "You see, you may have lost your shadow, but there's one thing you're forgetting"

"And what's that?" the boy asked, starting to lose his patience

"So have I" Gold replied, triumphantly, raising his hand to summon his shadow back "I sent it away with something to hide"

When it came, it brought the Dagger back as well. And as it re-joined Gold, he forcibly held Pan against himself

"What are you doing?!" Pan demanded, struggling to get free

"You see, the only way for you to die, is if we both die" Gold reminded him, gleefully "And now... now, I am ready" he said, stabbing Pan in the back with the Dagger, impaling himself with it in the process. A cloud of black smoke covered Pan, turning him back to the man he was before

"Hello, Papa"

"Rumple, please" Malcom begged his son "You can stop this. Remove the dagger. We can start over. We can have a happy ending"

"Ah, but I'm a villain. And villains don't get happy endings" Gold said, twisting the Dagger deeper. A golden light peeked out from the blade, engulfing them as they both disappeared out of existence

The scroll dropped to the floor while the freezing spell on the group ended, Belle immediately collapsing on the ground in a fit of grief

"No, Rumpel. He's... he's gone" she cried as Regina slowly kneeled to pick up the scroll

"Regina? Are you okay?" Snow asked

"I'm fine" the mayor replied

"I'm so sorry" Emma said to Neal

"My father did what he had to do. He saved us" Neal replied, fighting the tears that threatened to fall from his eyes "Regina, don't let him die for nothing. Regina?"

"What?" she replied, keeping her back to them

"We're here for a reason, love. Pan?" Hook reminded her
