Ariel - Part 2

When they arrived at the center, they found a hole in the ground of the cavern, and in its center, a single piece of earth with a cage on top.

From inside the cage, a now awake Neal saw the group coming in

"Emma!" he exclaimed, the name echoing

"Neal" Emma whispered when she realized he was still alive

"It must be 100 feet across" said Snow

"Even if we fashion some sort of rope, there's nothing to attach it to, no way to swing over" David commented

"So what do we do?" asked Emma, still in shock

"We've told you what needs to be done" said Angie

"Consider this the moment of truth. Literally. Now, who wants to kick things off?" asked Hook

"So what, someone tells their secret and they sprout wings?" asked Emma

"I don't know the particulars, only what I've been told" Hook said, then turned to Angie "Swan?"

"Uh, I think that with each secret, you get a way to cross over but, I'm not sure" she replied

"Then how do we know it'll work?" said David

Hook took a deep breath "There's only one way to find out I suppose" he said softly, stepping closer to the edge. He then turned towards the group and exhaled "I kissed Angie" he said

"You did what!?" David asked, angry

"David, now is not the time" Snow held him back

"I already told Emma and my mom, so technically it's not a secret" Angie said "And it was just a kiss, how is that your darkest secret?"

"It's what the kiss exposed. My secret is I never thought I'd be capable of letting go of my first love, of my Milah. To believe that I could find someone else. That is until I met you" Hook admitted

As soon as he finished talking, the ground started to shake and a large chunk of rock grew from the floor, forming a partial bridge to reach the part where Neal was

"Uh, Mary Margaret-" David started, but his wife interrupted him

"No, no, no. Me next. Ever since the curse broke, since we found each other, since we found Emma and Angie, and all of that happiness, there's something I haven't wanted to admit" she turned to look at her children then "Our daughters are beautiful, smart, amazing women, whom I love very much and of whom I could not be more proud. But they're all grown up" she turned back to David "And as much as I want to pretend I'm okay with that, I'm not. We missed it David. What we have with them is unique, but it's not what I wanted. We were cheated out of everything: their first steps, their first words, their first smiles; we missed it all"

"What are you saying?" asked David, unsure of what she was trying to say

"When we get off this island and get back to Storybrooke, I want another go at it. I want to have another baby" Snow admitted, and again, the ground quaked, extending the bridge

David looked at his wife with so much love in his eyes, but also pain "Nothing in this world would make me happier and I know, with all my heart, that you would make an amazing mother" he told her "But it can never happen. At least, not with me"

"What do you mean?" Snow asked confused

"When Hook and I went to search for the sextant, he was really taking me to find a cure" David replied

Snow turned serious, not liking where this was going "A cure for what?" she asked curtly

"Dreamshade" was all David said
