Anika's mom is reading a newspaper on her way to work when something caught her attention. It was an exclusive quick interview with one of Kanagawa's best basketball player, Akira Sendoh.

Interview:
When did you start playing basketball?
I started to have an interest when I was about 4 or 5 and I joined a kids' basketball camp when I was 6. From then on, my love for basketball grew and I did not really thought of anything aside from basketball. It's my life.
Why did you choose Ryonan high in Kanagawa and did not stay in Tokyo?
Coach Taoka scouted me in middle school. I was playing for Tokyo University Junior High. We had a good talk and I felt that I'll be able to improve my skills under him. That's why I chose Ryonan.
Do you think it is true that Ryonan cannot win without Akira Sendoh?
It's hard to say. My teammates are pretty strong themselves. All of us train really hard and our teamwork is good.
What do you feel when people call you "Ryonan's ace"?
Of course, I feel proud. However, I believe that I still lack some skills and I still have room for improvement. That's why training and practice is really important in basketball.
What do you do on your free time?
I enjoy fishing a lot.
Are you aware that you have a huge fanclub, not only here in Kanagawa, but all over Japan?
I'd say I'm aware of it but I do not really know much about it.
Last question, is there someone who owns Akira Sendoh's heart?
Yes, and that would be my girlfriend, Anika. I'm really hoping that she'll read this interview. Thank you so much for inviting me!
