"Huh? What do you mean?" Anika asked Sendoh
"Hisashi Mitsui is one of the best shooting guards in Kanagawa... He's famous for his pretty face as well."
"Are you jealous?" Anika smiled at Sendoh
"Of course I am! I mean, I know that we aren't oficially together but you know that I like you! I have told you so many times..." Sendoh frowned and looked to the ground
"Can't you tell that I only like you, Akira? We have been going home together almost everyday. I thought it was obvious!" Anika started to walk away as briskly as she could
"Did you just say that you like—? Wait, Anika!" When Sendoh caught up with her, her hands were on her knees and was already panting heavily. In the verge of having an asthma attack.
When Anika was able to steady her breathing, she looked up at Sendoh and smiled.
"Do you want me to tell you a little secret?"

Sendoh and Anika sat on a park bench. They are sitting side by side and are looking up at the stars.
"When I ran away from home, I couldn't say goodbye to you because I didn't want you to see me cry... I was really broken at that time and I knew that you were busy with basketball so I didn't want you to worry... I regretted not saying goodbye and it haunted me. When I first saw you here in Kanagawa, I was really happy and thought for a minute if I was dreaming..." Anika paused and continued to speak
"I liked you since middle school, Akira. It did not go away. Not even a bit. I just didn't want it to meddle with our... careers. I thought you'd hate me for leaving but you didn't... and I really feel guilty cause of that." Anika looked down at her hands. Her glasses started to fog up and tears started to drop.
Sendoh looked at her with worry and wrapped his arms around her. They stayed like this for a few minutes. When Anika have calmed down, Sendoh cupped her face with his hand, removed her glasses, and wiped her tears with his thumb.
Anika looked at him with wonder. She couldn't deny that he was extremely handsome.
"Anika... Can you be my girlfriend?"
When Sendoh popped the question, Anika's eyes grew bigger and started to stutter
"W-wh-what?" It came out as a whisper
"I want you to be my girlfriend. Can you be my girlfriend?" Sendoh asked once again and gave her a warm smile
"Yes"
