HELLBOUND {Sequel}

Thirty-five

__Tails's alarm went off and he immediately switched it off. He did not feel like getting up at all. He was still quite upset with the events from yesterday. He could always get ready later once it was daylight. He just needed to make sure to water the tree before then. His communicator was on the nightstand next to his phone, so he grabbed that and started fidgeting through the apps. There was a virtual yellow button with a white T on it. Tails had tapped it three times and waited until he heard the garage door open and put the communicator back before laying down. T-Pup would know to collect some water to water the tree for him. That took care of that.
__Now Tails couldn't help but look at Cream. She was a deep sleeper, so the alarm never woke her up. She would only ever wake up on her own, by someone else waking her up, or if a bomb dropped nearby. It had been making most mornings easier for Tails to wake up since he never had to worry about waking her up, however, he was starting to get uncomfortable now. He couldn't deny the attraction they both shared no matter how much he wanted to. This was not something Tails ever expected to happen. He had been convinced that he would never find anyone else he could be attracted to. That was a reason why he let Cosmo inside. Something he hadn't had to deal with in a while was being complimented on his body, and he was always uncomfortable with people doing that, especially if they came from women. But when Cream expressed her interests in him last night he was more content than uncomfortable. Sure, she mostly complimented his traits, but it was all the same to him. Tails had already admitted to Cream and himself that she was something special, but he can't allow himself to continue this. He already made a commitment to Cosmo, and he still loved her. Everything was just too difficult right now.
__He didn't want to think right now. He turned away from Cream and Cheese and stared out his window. He thought he'd have a difficult time going back to sleep, but it came pretty quickly.

__Tails had woken up when he felt someone slap his ass real hard. He had immediately gasped and sat up. It was already bright outside. Tails looked over and saw Scourge snickering to himself and felt annoyed. "The fuck, dude!?"
__Scourge had simmered down and crossed his arms. "You don't sleep in. Thought I'd help start your day with a little push." The green hedgehog couldn't stop smiling.
__This made Tails sigh and shake his head as he smiled. "Dammit, Scourge. I guess technically you qualify for my group of homies."
__"Damn straight!" Scourge was now motioning Tails to follow as he left the room. By the looks of it, Cream and Cheese must have woken up a while ago and left the room.
__Tails had grunted as he slid off the bed. He went to quickly put on his socks before he followed the hedgehog out with his phone and communicator. As he stepped out of his bedroom he was hit with the smell of breakfast. Cream had already finished cooking in the kitchen as everyone else got situated to eat. The Destructix were going to eat in the living room and Tails saw Scourge sit next to to Fiona at the dining table. Cream just finished setting down the rest of the food while Cheese flew around her in excitement. It took until Cream gave him one of her pancakes for him to sit on the table and start eating. T-Pup was laying beside the table. It only moved its eyes to look at Tails. It didn't make a sound, but it started wagging its tail. As Tails got closer T-Pup stood up and ran over to him and hopping up on his legs. Tails was always happy seeing it act like a real dog.
__"Tails, come sit," Cream called to him.
__Tails had grinned awkwardly as he reluctantly went to sit next to her at the table. Sensing this uneasiness, T-Pup had hopped up onto Tails's lap and laid down. This forced Tails to have to pet it while he ate.
__"You doing all right, hun?" Fiona had asked Tails. "Couldn't sleep?"
__While Tails did not want to talk about it this early, he was grateful for the vixen's concern. "Not until real late. Sonic was texting me while drunk."
__Fiona just scoffed and shook her head. "Always has to check in on ya, huh? Even when he doesn't know what's going on."
__Tails let our a titter. "I suppose so." He then pulled out his phone and showed Fiona all the pictures of Eli Sonic had sent him. "Felt good to know he was thinking of her while not sober."
__Fiona grabbed his phone and smiled while she looked through the pictures. Scourge looked curious as he leaned over and started going through the messages. He looked confused as he started tittering. "What the hell? Why does he want to eat his own foot?"
__Tails ignored Cream's giggling as he shrugged his shoulders. "He's uh... he doesn't think straight, or at all when he's like that."
__"Sounds about right."
__"Anyway," Fiona interrupted. "Do you still plan on going to HQ today?"
__Tails nodded slowly. "Have to. No matter what everyone thinks, I have responsibilities that must take priority. Besides, you have your check up today."
__This made Fiona groan as she looked away. "Yeah..."
