HELLBOUND {Sequel}

Forty-three

__Tails and T-Pup sat silently with the Destructix and Cream and Cheese in the living room as they watched Scourge and Fiona argue. Scourge was trying to convince Fiona to hurry and evacuate with everyone else, but Fiona was just being so stubborn and refused to budge. She said that she refused to run away with the others. If she wasn't going to be involved in the battle, then she wanted to at least stay in this house. Scourge found it difficult to understand her reasoning. All he was thinking about was Fiona and their son's safety. Even Tails knew that just because Doctor Eggman was going to attack the city didn't mean that his house would be safe. As spacious from the neighbors' houses it was, it was still close to the city. Fiona, even acknowledging that fact, still wouldn't back down.
__"What the hell is wrong with you!?" Scourge had been trying so hard not to yell at Fiona, but he was visibly annoyed and impatient. "You and that child could die if you stay here!"
__"I can't go with everyone else, god dammit!" Fiona, on the other hand, had no issue screaming at Scourge. "That won't do us any good!"
__"No good!? You'll be alive! Is this pregnancy really using up all your braincells that you're not thinking properly!?"
__"How fucking dare you!?"
__Tails's ears drooped down as he heard T-Pup start whining. He started petting his robot dog as he whispered to Lightning. "Have they been like this all the time?"
__Lightning nodded before whispering. "Scourge never insulted her, though. Just shows how serious this is."
__Tails sighed and shook his head. Someone had to step in. He just wished it wasn't him. He gave T-Pup one last pat before standing up and cautiously getting in the between the couple. "Sorry to interrupt, but let's just breathe for a minute."
__Tails had flinched when both of them shouted "NO!" and held up his hands.
__"Okay! Okay! I get it! I do! Not my business!" He then lowered his hands and perked his ears back up. "But this situation is already serious. Fiona," Tails turned to the vixen while locking eyes with her. Fiona had looked away, though. "It's obvious why Scourge wants you to leave, but why do you want to stay? That's what I'm having a hard time believing. You're smart. You know staying here would be dangerous."
__Fiona was groaning while she flattened her ears. "Nothing!" she growled through gritted teeth.
__Tails returned the groan as he rolled his eyes. "We're not going to get anywhere if you refuse to open up right now. We're all just worried. Aren't you?"
__Fiona looked down as T-Pup walked over and started rubbing itself against her legs. She sighed in defeat before turning away from the fox. "fUUUUUck... Look, I just... I know I'm gonna be stressed the entire time if I'm stuck with a bunch of randoes in a random place. I'd rather stay in a place I feel safe in."
__Tails understood completely. He was even flattered as well. "I guess that makes sense, but are you sure this is the best solution for your son?"
__Fiona was silent. She refused to answer.
__Tails turned to look at Scourge. "Well... we can let T-Pup stay here with her. He'll keep her safe. Promise."
__Scourge took a step back to ponder for a bit. After about a minute or so he sighed before pulling out the yellow Chaos Emerald from the sack he was holding. "Fine, Fiona. What fucking ever. Just keep this at least." He waited for Fiona to turn around before tossing her the emerald. "But you have to promise me that at the first sign of danger you'll go to the others in the next city, and you have to call me when that happens so I can get to you."
__Fiona scoffed, but she was smiling. "Fine, fine. I guess that's fair."
__There was an awkward silence.
__Scourge had flattened his ears as he looked at his feet. "I'm... sorry I said you had no braincells."
__"Yeah, you are."
__Tails was trying not to laugh as he stepped away and let them talk and make up. Well, that was easy. He went to sit down next to Cream on the couch, keeping enough distance to be comfortable. "Huh."
__Cream was hugging Cheese while giggling. "You should be a councilor."
__"Har har," Tails laughed sarcastically.
__Cream was now shifting uncomfortably on the couch. "I hope everything goes okay."
__Tails knew why she was worried. She had to bear witness to everyone's uncertainty towards Tails today. All of his friends were definitely worried about that. He tried to forget. "Sure it will. It always does, no matter what kind of bad shit we're hit with."
__Cream nodded. "I mean, yeah, but this is different."
__"How?" Tails grumbled. "Remember how many people doubted Sonic after he got infected with the Zombot virus? How everyone blamed him for not taking in Mr. Tinker? He was in a worse situation than I am right now. I can handle it."
__"Can you, though? I don't like this one bit."
__"I'm fine, Cream."
__"You're not."
__"Cream."
__"You're not!"
__"All right, stop," Scourge groaned as he knelt down in front of the two. "How are we going from me and Fiona arguing to you two arguing like us?"
__Both Cream and Tails's faces turned red as they snapped at the green hedgehog. "We're not dating!"
__Scourge stood up and held up his hands. "I didn't say you were!" He reassured while showing the biggest shit eating grin.
__Tails flattened his ears and turned away. "We're fine as long as she doesn't slap me again," he groaned.
__"I said I was sorry!" Cream lightly retorted before mumbling."I was on my period."
__"Not a valid excuse!"
__"Tell that to society!"
__"Fuck society!"
__"I would if I could!" Cream then look horrified by what she said. "Wait! No! I didn't mean that!" She turned and shoved Tails when he started laughing. "Look what you did to me!"
__Tails was almost tearing up. "Aw man! Your mother would fucking kill me!"
__"Yeah, she would!"
__While the two continued to bicker and laugh, the others just sat there in an awkward silence.
