When Freya met Aiden

It was huge and Carlo put it right in the middle of the table and gave Aiden and Freya a fork each "it's made for sharing and a little birdie told me, one of your favorite films is 'lady and the tramp' and you love the scene where they share a plate of spaghetti and meatballs, because they are so in love, so enjoy" "do you like spaghetti and meatballs?" Freya asked Aiden "not my favorite food, but I'll give them a go for you" "you don't have to eat them if you don't want to, I won't shout at you" "I know you won't, but I'm going to try them, so tuck in" well they managed to eat about half, then Aiden started to suck the spaghetti and motioned Freya to do the same, pointing at a particular piece of spaghetti, Freya was sure Aiden must be very good at puzzles, because she started to suck her end and it slowly lifted and they were recreating the scene from 'lady and the tramp', Freya hadn't realized that people were watching the couple eating, so when they got to the middle and their mouths met and Aiden bit the spaghetti and then kissed her, people started clapping and cheering. "Bog off you lot, us eating our meal is not a spectator sport you know?" said Aiden "we know, but it was so cute, just like the film, I've watched it loads of time with the kids, but now I've seen it in real life, you two are so cute together" said Charlie "we're cute together? well I've never been called 'cute' before" Freya said "well I think you're cute" said Aiden and he kissed her. Well they all had a whale of a time, eating, drinking, singing, the guys giving an impromptu sing a long. It got to about 2am and Freya was starting to get tired "Aiden, I don't want to be a 'party pooper', but I'm getting tired, I'm not used to partying, I won't spoil your fun so you can stay with the guys, but I'm going back to the hotel, sorry darling" "I'm coming to, I'm getting tired as well, so we'll say goodbye to the rabble and go to bed." 

They went round everybody and said goodnight. Charles and Rowena said "we're going to go as well, we've just phoned for the car to pick us up, how are you getting back to the hotel?" "We were going to call a cab" "don't do that, we'll drop you off on the way" "that will be brilliant, I'll just go and see Carlo." Freya found him sitting with Betty, they both looked really happy "penny for them?" "we we're just watching all of you and thinking that if Home Front hadn't come here, we might never have realized how much we mean to each other, because we'd never have met you and Aiden, and you wouldn't have kicked us up the bum to get together" "you'd have found each other eventually, I just gave you a gentle nudge, where's Rose by the way? I saw her when we first came in, but not since" "she's upstairs with Carlo's mama, she wanted some peace, but she loved being in the party earlier on, she said everybody treated her like she belonged with them" "they're good lads and their partners are the same, and anybody that's crew or works with them are the same as well, everybody's equal. They don't put on airs and stick their noses in the air because they're famous, so everybody gets pulled into the family, I hope you gave her some champagne to take upstairs so she and Carlo's mama could have a celebration drink with us?" "We gave them some of the alcohol free stuff, they can't drink because they're both on medication, hope that was acceptable?" "You could have given them anything they wanted, except my Aiden, right I've come to say we're going now, we're pooped I'm not used to late nights, so I'll see you in the morning, to settle up and if they're getting to much and you want them gone just tell them to 'bugger off'. Well goodnight and thank you for putting this on at such short notice Carlo, see you in the morning" and Freya hugged them both. 

Aiden came and told her the car was outside "come on sleepy head let's get you to bed, and thank you Carlo for putting up with us all, if you want to get rid of them, tell them to go" and he shook hands with Carlo and hugged Betty and gave her a kiss on the cheek, she had a smile a mile wide, as they both said goodnight. They went out to the car, Charles and Rowena we're already in it, so the couple got in. "Have you had a good time Freya?" "Yes, it's been brilliant, from the show to the party I've had a whale of a time, mind you Mr Ross here is in trouble dragging me on stage like that, I hate being starred at" "but it was beautiful Freya, I'd love to be serenaded like that, Aiden showing everybody how much he loves you by singing his heart out to you, so romantic" said Rowena  "you don't say that when I sing to you" "oh it's lovely Charles, but you must admit Aiden has an absolutely beautiful tenor voice, and when you sing you scare the cats, but I love it anyway" and she gave him a kiss and they started laughing "sorry Charles but I've heard you sing and you do scare the poor cats, mind you so do I, I can't sing at all, I think I'd scare the cats and the people as well" "what happened to your voice? you used to be able to sing, you had a beautiful contralto voice, you used to sing in the school choir" said Rowena. "I had 'quinsy' and I was quite ill with it, and I couldn't seem to sing after that, then hubby kept telling me I sounded like a strangled cat, and he didn't want to hear that 'awful racket ever again'" "so you've never tried singing again?" said Aiden "no, I sing along to your CD'S or when I've got YouTube on, but even the girls pull funny faces and stick their fingers in their ears" "but I saw you singing along in the show, you seemed to be really enjoying it" "I was, that's why, plus mine was one voice among hundreds, and some of them were worse than me, but nobody cares we were just enjoying ourselves and having a fantastic time, I always have a fantastic time with you" and she kissed him on the cheek.
