My Protector

Chapter 12

Jennie was sitting in her room as the sky grew darker with each passing second. Irene came in and sat next to her, "Do you like him?"

Jennie looked at her friend who was being dead serious for the first time. "Yes,but I told him no because you like him I swear", Jennie said trying to protect her friendship. "It doesn't matter because you can have him",she said disheartened. "What since when don't you like him?",Jennie asked in disbelief. "Since I saw the look in his eye when he you were on stage",she admitted. "I'm sorry...",Jennie said looking down not being able to look Irene in the eye. "It's fine... really I'll have someone new by next week, but you're never going to find someone who loves you like he does",Irene said placing her hand on Jennie's shoulder.

"So... you're saying" "I'm saying go for him",Irene said happily. Jennie smiled, but it quickly faded as she remembered the kiss they had shared and what she had done after:

Flashback:

"V we can't do this"
"Why not"
"I don't like you like that"
"We have to keep our relationship professional"
(Jennie walks away"

"I can't I already messed things up",she admitted. "What did you do?",Irene asked suspiciously. "I told him I didn't like him like that because I thought you liked him",Jennie said regretfully. Irene signed and ran her hand through her hair. "Talk to him, he'll understand...he loves you",Irene said trying to boost her friend's confidence.

Jennie decided to take Irene's advice and tell V the untold truth that dwelled in her heart. She waited for him to arrive to pick her up from her studio and asked Nayeon to send him to her dressing room. V did as he was told and headed up to her dressing room as he entered there's was a silence as they looked at each other for several beats.

"I love you",Jennie blurted out making V's eyes grow bigger.

Jennie took a deep breath and let the words fall out:

I've loved you from the moment I saw you, but I was too stupid to realize it. Then Irene liked you so I backed off and I hated it because I burned with envy everytime I saw you together. Then when we kissed it was the best thing that could've ever happened to me and I know you may hate me for rejecting you and I don't blame you. But you have to believe me when I say I love you and if you don't then I don't know what to-

She was interrupted as he pulled her into a intense kiss that seemed to last forever. Jennie pulled back and looked at V who gave her a boxy smile when he looked into her eyes. "I love you",he whispered underneath his breath. Jennie buried her head into his chest as he wrapped his hands around her waist holding her tight and not wanting to let her go.
