Your POV

The Parent's Weekend is here! I'm so happy, my parents and brother will be here today, I finally can introduce my mate to them. I hope my father didn't spill any tea to mom.

I and Marilyn didn't talk or interacted much since that day in the Principle's office, we tried to keep our distance so the rumors could stop. The consequence of that is quite annoying, a blond werewolf, who flirted with me in the Rave'N, try to be my girlfriend, she sits with me in every class possible, have lunch with me, even invite me to sleep over in her room. I swear I felt so annoyed, but she ignored all my attempts to tell her that I'm not interested. Marilyn was sad about it, I texted her, tried to explain myself, I hoped she doesn't think too much.

I walk toward Enid's parents, her mother is always a pain in our asses, she hurt Enid's feelings so many times I couldn't count. I come to greet the Sinclairs, Enid sighed in relief, I always come to talk to her mom and help her out of these situations.

"May, so glad to see you here! Oh, what happened to your eye?" Esther, Enid's mother, asked.

"Just an accident!" I shrug "I would say I'm really impressed with Enid this semester, she excelled at most of the subjects, especially botanical science! She makes the Furs so proud, Mrs. Sinclair!"

"Really? I don't know she is that excellent!" her eyes widen, my plan is succeed.

"She must be shy to tell you since she hasn't wolfed out yet. But with my Alpha instinct, I believe she just stresses, let her relax and she'll wolf out at the at of the semester" and to be more convincing, I add "My Alpha never wrong before, trust me!"

Her face lit up immediately, I hope she won't force Enid to go to some stupid camp. I leave them and walk to the Addams and my family, they are talking, standing beside them is Wednesday with her usual "don't touch, I'm pissed" face.

"May, there you are! Come, let me introduce you to the Addams! Mr. Addams here is my former roommate" I shake the short man's hand, Wednesday do has his... well, not much resemblance.

"Good morning, Mr. Addams!" I greet.

"I do remember you, you the werewolf that my daughter talked about... right?" he raised his brow.

"Wrong wolf, father" Wednesday hissed.

I chuckle, that wolf definitely is Enid, no doubt. I wonder how obsessed is she with the pup, the goth doesn't express much emotion and the pup is blind, her eyes are just there to fit her aesthetic.

"I remember those days, an Addams and an Adam in the same room. You always stick your face in the book even when you had a date with your wife!" Mr. Addams laughed.

"Oh dear, he was forced to be there, remember! Lori was a big bully back then!" Mrs. Addams gave my mom a glare, they did not really get along, to be honest.

"At least I'm not leaving my best friend alone on her birthday for another man. I couldn't count how many times you had been there with us... oh, my bad, you not even there once for all those years, you were too busy dating!" my mom smirked, Larissa, my father's cousin, is also my mom's best friend, my mom dislikes Wednesday's mother because she broke my aunt heart back in the day.

I secretly exchange glances with Wednesday, she seems doesn't give a shit, my dad and Mr. Addams also just stand there awkwardly look the two women roasting each other. I try seeking help from my brother who stands quietly from the beginning, but he ignored me. Fuck!

I look around, Merlin's coming this way. I give her some signals to come and stop this before my mom skin the woman in black. Merlin quickly comes forward to save the day, she looks more confident than ever. That's new!

"Aunty, uncle, it's so good to have you here!" she happily said.

"Merlin!" Mrs. Addams turned her attention to her niece, the school is safe from the women's rage, at last "Oh, my dearest niece is so beautiful today! Your mother told me to check on you since she busied in France. Look how lovely you are with new hair, dear!"

"I'll leave your family talking then, goodbye!" my dad quickly took the chance and dragged my mom away.

I also left with them, we stand in a dark corner of the quad, Marilyn is standing not so far away. I come to her, take her back to my parents. This is my chance to introduce them my mate.

"Mom, dad, Henry, let me introduce you guys, my mate. This is Marilyn Thornhill, she's a normie and also my teacher!" I say.

Marilyn nervously smiles, my brother and father don't seem to bother, they, in fact, accept her very well and also introduce themself. My mom, on the other hand, seems uncomfortable, she tries to hide it but it's still obvious that she doesn't like Marilyn.

"I need to talk to her... privately!"

Marilyn POV

"I need to talk to her... privately!" that's not a question, it's an order.

Sweats start to drip down from my face, I know this will happen, how can they accept a normie like me to be their daughter's mate. She takes me to a corridor, her eyes dart at me dangerously, if she wants, she can kill me now and no one will find out.

"You think I don't recognize you, Laurel Gates!"

I froze. How can she know? May didn't tell anyone about it, even her family. Then how did her mother know?

My brain is working its best to find the reason for that, my hands shaking and my blood suddenly feels so cold in my vein.

"You may don't remember, but we met at the Harvest Festival in 1991, you were like 8 or 9 back then"

The mean girl with short silver hair.

It's her.

"I... I don't know what you're talking about!" I turn around to go back to the quad.

"Listen here you bitch!" she pined me to the wall "How did you trick May into thinking you're her mate? Let me guess, by using your face, your body, or some sort of witchcraft!"

"I don't d..."

"Shut up! I don't care what did you do, but remember, harm my daughter and you shall pay for it. My pack would gladly to have a feast on you!" she snarled.

My heart is pounding hard in my chest, I could feel the wet tears on my face. People have isolated me, insulted me just because I'm a normie, because I'm close to May. But they are not May's mother, they did not threaten me like her, her words were just like a needle running in my veins, waiting to stab me, to kill me.

"Mother, what are you doing? Let her go!" May pushed her mother away and wrapped her arms around me. I can't help it and cry, burying my face in her chest.

"I got you, Mary!" she gently placed a kiss on my forehead "Why did you do that to my mate, mother?"

"Do you know who she is? She's L..." her mother growled.

"Laurel Gates, so what? She's still my mate, she cares for me and loves me! She's not like her family, give her a chance, mother!"

"She tricks you! What did that whore do to you, huh? Buying your trust with her body?"

May widened her eyes in disbelief, she stared at her mother and told her with a shaky voice "I think you should leave now. I don't want to talk to you. She is my mate, believe it or not, there is no mistake!"

"May, you have to l..."

"Mother, not now. You need time to accept her, and I need time to calm down. I need my mate!" she snapped.

We left her mother standing there alone, too shocked to say anything, her tears fell uncontrollably just like mine. I feel bad for her mother. But at the same time...

'She should have accepted me!'

She deserve it.
