Wednesday POV

"Wednesday, why Is May tied up?"

This is unexpected.

"You said who was the monster?"

"Don't change the subject, why is May being tied up?" Enid pointed at May "Wednesday?"

"I thought she was the monster. Now answer me, who was the monster you want to tell me earlier?"

"It's Jessie Kolker, the blond werewolf that used to sit next to May. She's the monster!"

"Wait what? Her?" May looked at Enid confused, she had somehow taken off the blindfold when I didn't look.

"Yeah! I picked up some familiar scent of the monster in the Gates manor, so when I came back to Nevermore, I tried to find the person that have the same scent. I stumbled across Jessie in the hallway and then I recognize her so I tried to find Wednesday and tell her" as Enid rambled, May glared at me angrily.

"You heard that? I'm not the freaking monster!" she growled.

So May is telling the truth then.

Maybe I'm just overthinking.

Or is May just trying to trick me again?

The whole thing is just so messed up.

Marilyn POV

May suppose to meet me at the library 30 minutes ago, she usually comes early, even if she's late, she'll text me.

"Miss Thornhill? What happened? You look anxious"

"Bianca, did you see May? I can't find her anywhere, I tried to text her but she didn't reply!"

"I saw Wednesday and May heading to the bee hut. We should check there"

"Okay, thank you, Bianca!"

We head to the bee hut and just like what she said, May is really here, but being tied up in a chair with chains.

"What is going on here?" I shout "Wednesday, what are you doing to her?"

I rush over to help May, I notice there is a red mark on her neck, I look back at Wednesday and see her hand still holding a taser, on the table next to her were some knives and saws.

"Wednesday, what did you do to her?" I look at her in the eyes. I don't care if she going around and causing trouble, but how dare she lay her hands on my girl.

"Miss Thornhill, I know who is the monster. It's Jessie Kolker, sh..."

"What did YOU do to her?"

"Miss Thorn..." Enid came in between us.

"Enid, I know you're not in this so step aside" I turn my attention back to the goth "You're in big trouble this time Miss Addams. I'll make sure Principle Weems will get you expelled from this school, immediately!"

Thomas Stone POV

I know that Laurel loves her puppy, but she didn't have to force the Principle to expel the Addams girl like that. I need that girl to finish the ceremony to revive Crackstone.

Women.

Always do things before considering the consequences.

Now I have to rearrange everything because of her.

That bitch better have some good genes for my children.

"Kara, got everything ready for tonight! We'll do it tonight! No more waiting!"

Wednesday POV

It's not difficult to leave this place. In fact, I don't really like it, I only stay until now because there are dead and Enid that are also attached to it.

"Will you miss me, Wendy?" seeing her pouting will always give me a disgusting feeling in my stomach, in a good way. If it's possible, I will put her in my luggage and take her home.

"Enid... the mark you have left on me is indelible. Anytime I grow nauseous at the sight of a rainbow or hear a pop song that makes my ears bleed, I'll think of you"

"Thanks... I guess"

"And if I miss your accompany, remember not to lock your window, it'll be easier for me to come in"

It still bothers me, the monster, the murderer, Laurel Gates, I don't want to leave when everything is still unclear. I want to know the truth, I want to solve this mystery.

"Tell May I'm sorry, for suspecting her. I hope she'll find out the one that is behind this for me"

"I will. Oh, and I got a text from Eugene's moms. He woke up last night. Maybe Weems will let you drop by on your way to the station"

Eugene. He being in the hospital can say mostly is my fault. If I had been there with him, he would have been injured that badly.

"Goodbye, Wendy!"

"Goodbye, Alpha"

The sky was clear, a bit cloudy, a bit sunny, a bit windy. Others would say it was a beautiful day. I say it was a terrible day. But let's pretend that it wasn't. Let's pretend that I enjoy this weather. Let's just pretend it's like that. Maybe this will be my last day in this town.

"Wednesday!" Eugene's face lit up when he saw me coming.

"Eugene. Glad to see you're finally awake"

"I heard you visited me all the time"

"Don't ever mention it again" he chuckled "Listen, I've been meaning to tell you... I shouldn't have gone to the dance. I should have been with you"

"When the dance floor calls, you gotta answer. You just like me, fancy werewolf chick" he shrugged "It's not your fault. It's the monster's"

"It's actually called the Hyde. It's still out there. You can't go back to Nevermore. Not even to check on your bees and you have to listen to me this time. I thought hummers were supposed to stick together"

"That night in the woods, someone set fire to that cave" he furrowed.

"Who is it?"

He saw them. This is my last hope to find out the murderer. All this time, it was Eugene that I forgot. He is the only person that has encountered them besides me and May.

"I don't remember any of it. I just saw someone wearing black and those boots"

"What about their boots?"

"There was an explosion of light and just for a moment, I saw that they weren't black. They were red. Someone was also with them, standing from far away then gone"

'Miss Thornhill?'

How can that be?

How can she want to harm May?

The monster attacked h...

Maybe I was right.

May is the monster. She tricked me, she tricked Enid.

Laurel Gates is her mate so she protected her. That's why she lied to me, pretended to be a victim, pretended to be on my side. May know magic, she can manipulate people with her right eye. Getting injured will make people take their guard down around her. So she can use her power without getting suspicious.

I was right about her.

Because I know, so Laurel tried to kick me out of the school.

That all make sense now.

After all, the most dangerous one is the closest.
