After four and a half hours of surgery, Abby was brought to her room. Brendon was at her side as soon as he was told she'd been settled in her room. Abby was asleep, but Brendon was told she was also still under the effects of the anaesthetic and she'd probably sleep a good while. But Brendon wasn't going to leave her side regardless.
Brendon looked at his daughter. Her face had a couple small scrapes. She was completely covered in blankets keeping her warm. He wanted to peek under the blankets and see where they'd operated. But he didn't think Abby would like that much.
Abby's nurse came into the room to check a few things on Abby. She checked her I.Vs and catheter, her oxygen levels and her monitors. Abby only had cannula in her nose giving her a little extra oxygen. There was a collar around her neck keeping her head immobilized until the doctors could determine the extent of her spinal injury.
Brendon picked up her slack left hand and squeezed. Abby didn't move.
"I'm so sorry, Abs," he said through unbidden tears. "I'm sorry. I didn't realize time kept getting away from me. I didn't realize you felt so left out. I should have worked harder at making sure we had time together. I should have insisted on carving out time during the day that was just us. I thought you were having fun. I thought you were understanding how this worked and I thought you were okay with it all. I didn't check in and that's my fault. Abby, I love you so much. I'm so, so sorry. When you get out of here I promise. It's going to be different. I'm gonna spend so much time with you, you're gonna be sick of me. You're going to beg me to leave you alone."
Abby didn't respond. She slept on, and Brendon sat, holding her hand and watching his daughter sleep.
Zack kept the crew and management informed. The rest of the tour was going to be cancelled. There'd been three weeks and ten shows left. Brendon hated cancelling on his fans, but Abby was going to be in the hospital for a while, and he wasn't leaving her to tour. The fans would be upset but also understanding. Brendon's focus since losing Sarah and adopting Abby had always been Abby. His fans commented on it a lot. Pictures that management posted during the tour that had Abby in them got the most comments and likes.
Patrick sat and visited with Brendon for a couple more hours before heading home again he said he'd be back to visit in the next couple of days.
"Let me know when she wakes up. I want to visit her, too," he smiled. Brendon smiled, too. He had great friends. He really did.
Brendon fell into a fitful sleep beside Abby's bedside after Patrick left. He'd been running on so much adrenaline that he just crashed. Zack wasn't going anywhere either. As soon as fans found out where Brendon was, they'd likely start showing up outside and Brendon was going to need friendly support.
Zack fell asleep on Abby's other side. Kala had curled up on a little couch in Abby's room and had fallen asleep there, too. Though she was still unconscious, Abby was surrounded by the three people who loved her the most in this world.
Panic! At The Disco Cancels All Remaining Shows!
Singer's Daughter Involved in Serious AccidentCHICAGO - Last night was supposed to be the night Panic! At The Disco brought their latest sold-out show to Chicago. However, just hours before the show was to begin, the band's social media announced a crew member had been injured seriously, and the show was cancelled. No word was given as to rebooking the show.
Around the time the show should have begun, another announcement from Panic!'s team was released stating that the injured "crew member" was in fact the 13-year-old adopted daughter of Panic's frontman, Brendon Urie. Not many details were shared as to the cause or extent of the young Miss Urie's injuries, until this morning when a statement by Mr. Urie was released. See below:
'To my fans, new and old, it guts me that I have had to do this, but the remainder of this tour has to be cancelled.
As you've likely heard by now, my daughter, Abby, was involved in a serious accident and is currently being treated in hospital. Her injuries are pretty extensive and we're not sure what her prognosis will be. She WILL survive, but we don't yet know the full extent of her physical injuries and she has a long road to recovery ahead of her.
Since losing Sarah and adopting Abby, my focus has always been on Abby. And so, with a heavy heart we are cancelling the remainder of this leg of the tour.
Thank you all for your support and love. It means so much to me and Abby. In the coming days and weeks, while Abby recovers we will update you regarding plans for rebooking, if possible.'
The band had shows scheduled in Chicago, Milwaukee, along with eight more dates along the eastern seaboard and Canada.
Further information about Abby Urie's condition or the exact cause and extent of her injuries hasn't been publicized.
This is a developing story.

Brendon awoke with a start. Something had woken him up and he wasn't entirely sure what it was. He looked around and got his bearings. It was then he realized it was his phone. Notifications from social media were coming through. Clearly the announcement had gone out. He read through some of the comments on the post on Instagram.
'Oh no! What happened to Abby? Is she going to be okay??'
'Poor Abby!! I wonder what happened.'
Brendon looked over at Abby, and saw she was still asleep. He stood up and looked at her face. He leaned over and kissed her forehead. She frowned a little bit when he did that, so Brendon took that as a good sign that she was waking up. And then he worried how much pain she might be in when she did finally open her eyes. But he was certain she would likely wake up at some point today. And he would apologize profusely.
